who is ready for tuesday? ‘cuz it’s here. many of you write in asking for more nine-to-five wardrobe ideas. and, yes, while many women of a certain age are enjoying retirement, there are just as many, including yours truly, active in the workforce. while 2020 disrupted the typical office environment and saw us wearing sweats on any given day from the comfort of our homes. 2021 has us out and about again, looking casual yet chic. yesterday, i introduced a series that featured a black wrap-around skirt from Banana Republic. separates are versatile items in your wardrobe that can be styled in multiple ways. the series kicked off with a casual weekend outfit. today, let’s look at one skirt styled three ways – work edition. if there’s one thing i believe, your wardrobe needs to work hard for you. not the other way around.
it bears repeating that i tweaked this wrap-around skirt by moving the bottom two buttons. when i first tried it on, the fit was too snug around my hips. since there was ample fabric for coverage, i moved the bottom two buttons over to see if this improved the fit. and it did! it’s a darling skirt (limited sizes similar here, here, and here) with patch pockets in the back, side pockets in front with a nice midi length, so i was more than happy to give it a home. today, i paired the black skirt with a black dot dolman top that’s versatile in its own right. this little number can be worn with shorts or jeans as well as skirts. today, i left the blouse untucked and cinched a brown belt (similar here) over the top. brown and black is a beautiful color combination, especially for office attire. it’s a color scheme borrowed directly from the boys. brown suede sandals with gold hardware tie back to the brown belt to reinforce the color scheme. a gold link bracelet, gold necklace (similar here), and gold hoop earrings elevate the outfit to office chic. the devil is in the details. accessories are an easy way to infuse your personality into any outfit.

Fabulous look! Speaks to my likes! Add my voice of gratitude to the many lately of how you continously inspire us. My favorite poses today are those of you in front of the doors 🙂
thanks, sylvia! you are always so supportive. i so appreciate you being here.
Nice outfit, especially like the brown belt as an accent.
brown and black is such a chic color combination. i’m so happy to hear you liked the outfit!
I think my favourite color combo is black/camel. Classic, casual, sophisticated, all of it. Love it Beth!
thanks, susan! so glad you liked today’s outfit. black and camel truly is a sophisticated look.
Beth, I really love your hair back with the side swept bangs. It’s so youthful as opposed to back off your face!
so many women think short hair isn’t versatile. but there’s more than one way to style it. i love to push it back for a change of pace. it looks especially chic for evening.
