happy wednesday, gang! can you believe March is quickly coming to an end?! time is, literally, marching on. while the band plays on, i am enjoying every minute of my new backyard. the birdfeeders are filled. hanging plants were purchased along with herbs for my herb garden. and i started to tweak my new outdoor rooms. a bar cart that lived on my screened porch moved to the main patio. the empty space was filled with an adorable whitewash baker’s rack from Ballard Designs. the only catch was that yours truly had to put it together… after sitting in its box for over a week, i finally devoted an evening to assembling said baker’s rack. love it! now i can store my melamine plates and acrylic glasses on the porch. hooray! the screened porch is a favorite place of mine to dine al fresco. nothing better than a backyard barbecue. today, i have an outfit that’s fit for a backyard barbecue or any casual outing.
speaking of barbecues, it’s time to fire up the grill and invite my clan over. i spotted the cutest outdoor game at Wayfair that will be perfect for such a soiree. it’s an oversized Connect Four which my family loves to play. when it’s time to head to the beach, it can easily travel with me. i also purchased a giant tabletop version of Jenga. nothing better than game night, especially when game night heads outside. can you tell i’m more than ready for spring-like temps and the chance to spend lots of time outdoors enjoying the flora and fauna?
yes, i have a pair of trusty green pants back in action today. this time they’re a pair of paper bag joggers (wearing a size medium) from Banana Republic that come in three colors and are so light and airy to wear. since the weather was mild, a wrap blouse from Anthropologie was the perfect companion. i just loved the color scheme of this blouse. it looks as if it stepped out of a Monet painting. the blouse looks fantastic with green pants, but i envision it with white denim or even a pair of light blue chinos or light rinse denim. lots of choices which i always love to have. i do think i could have sized down one size with the blouse. the weather was mild enough to wear sandals, so i slipped into a pair of pink wedges (old, similar here and here) from Eileen Fisher. what an easy peasy outfit to throw together at a moment’s notice.

Hi
I love your style blog . Causal but stylish and as my kids would say “Not old ladyish “ I am the same age and love your newer shorter haircut. It has an edge to it that really suits you.

thanks for stopping by, karen! and the vote of confidence with the shorter ‘do’!
Love your new patio and backyard. Will have so many enjoyable and fun times as you entertain family and friends, or just relaxing yourself. Also loved the outfit your showed today.
i am a big fan of bringing the outdoors in and the inside out. it’s so important to utilize every square inch of living space.
and i am so pleased with how the front and backyard turned out!
Looking great as always Beth! Loving the new haircut also. The backyard is coming along nicely. Oscar must be thrilled!
oscar loves his backyard no matter what i looks like. but i’m spending more time outdoors so more time for him to play fetch!
I love those green joggers. I have some and wear them over and over. They’re more comfortable in Florida than jeans because of the heat.
Your new back yard patio and porch are really a wonderful asset for your home, too. I love to spend as much time outdoors as I can. The Anthropology tops are always so unique. I’m sure this one will also get lots of wear.
i just love the spin Anthropologie puts on their clothes. their modern, colorful and so unique! glad to hear you
love your joggers. what a comfy pair of pants.
You’ve put a smile on this girl’s face, Beth! Love everything you spoke of this Spring day. Everything! Your backyard is a dream. I just wore a new pair of lightweight joggers and can tell they’re going to be a big part of this season’s outfits. This gal of a certain age loves the spring in my step wearing joggers seems to bring out. One more thing. Thanks so much for reminding us about proportions this week. Suddenly, seems my wardrobe grew with what’s already in the closet! 🙂 ~
aren’t joggers the cutest and easiest pants to wear?! so happy to hear you are enjoying yours. always love to hear from you!
Love the green jewelry with this outfit. I can’t wait to see your outside when it’s in full bloom. I love outdoor games. Horseshoes is still a favorite.
i can’t wait either, Eve! this year will look nice but it’s next year and the year after that will truly
showcase the backyard.
Hello,
Those sunglasses are amazing with your short hair! What is the brand, please?
the sunglasses are Fendi about two years old.
Beth, you have a great taste and style whether it’s clothes or home decor! I love getting inspiration from your posts and you make it really easy for us gals to go shopping. Actually a little too easy as it can be dangerous on the credit card if you know what I mean. Keep up the good work and thanks!
ever since the onset of online shopping, it’s been all too easy to add things to our cart! thanks so much
for stopping by. i so appreciate you being here.
Love the OOTD—looks comfortable, but put together. Lots of options with the top! With it being a little oversized, it would be a cute as a swim coverup. I echo the thumbs up on the shorter hair. It looks edgy and cool and pulls the eye to your gorgeous blue eyes.
what a great idea!
