beach week is a wrap as i’m savoring summer swimsuit style. honestly, when i head to the beach, my suitcase is fairly light. all i need is sunscreen, a hat, and more than one swimsuit. this is why i love a beach vacation. there’s no fuss, no muss, and i always return home rested and relaxed. some trips require planning, reservations, check-ins, and check-outs, and you’re on the go, go, go! love those excursions, but i’m typically exhausted when i walk through my front door. not so with the beach.
all right, gang, can you believe summer is drawing to a close. if you hadn’t heard, Labor Day is T minus 10. ugh! but the good news is we’ll slowly transition from hot pink tees to camel turtlenecks. okay, the weather will dictate a few variations of fall fashion for the foreseeable future. ready or not, fall is on its way, and i have to admit i’m getting excited. last week i ventured into T.J. Maxx and was immediately hooked with all of the fall decor on display. pumpkins, falling leaves, and Halloween are definitely my thing. yes, i came home with a few goodies. who can resist?
swimsuits can be a challenge to find. many of us dread the trip to the fitting room to try on countless swimsuits until one strikes our fancy. this time of year is a good time to buy swimwear as it’s on sale. that is if you can find your size… J.Crew has a nice selection, and i love the fit. several of you asked about the hot pink one-shoulder swimsuit (similar here) and the leopard two-piece swimsuit (top and bottom) i wore for my Instagram Reel. they are both from J.Crew. Gottex is another brand that gets my vote, as well as La Blanca. today’s one-piece swimsuit is from Norma Kamali, who offers an interesting take on swimwear that’s decidedly sexy. the vertical stripes caught my attention with this suit, but the fit is what i love. everything is more flattering with a bit of ruching. if you like extra coverage from the sun, a rash guard easily slips over the top. coverups are also easy to pair with a one-piece bandeau. go for a sarong or a gauzy dress. the choice is yours. a hat is a must-have for a beach vacay. this black hat (similar here and here) was first seen here at the beginning of the summer. it’s Eric Javits that’s packable and blocks 95% of UVA/UVB rays.
happy Wednesday, ladies. time to put a smile on someone’s face, including yours.

Love the swimsuit looks! J.Crew has been my go-to store for suits for the longest time. If cared for properly they’ll last for years. I hand wash mine with baby shampoo and they look great summer after summer. They gets lots of wear since I live in Florida. 🌞

Hi Beth
I just love the hot pink one shoulder one piece swimsuit and the two piece leopard print suit on your “reel.” They are my favorites. I love the beach with the sand, sea, salty air and breeze. It is rejuvenating to walk along the waters edge. Thanks for sharing your vacation.
