Truth be told, I have never had a skort in my closet before. Maybe I felt they were too sporty for my personal taste, but then I saw this denim version from J.Crew and I thought, “why not?!” It’s so cute! This style is unique because it has the skirt wrapping around the front, and the back is regular shorts. Most skort styles have the shorts completely hidden by the skirt.

This skort does not come in petite sizes, so I am wearing regular size 0. It comes in two washes, a lighter rinse like the one I am wearing, and darker rinse. Both rinses are selling out fast, but it does look like they will restock it.

The Denim Skort has a side zip and I love the gold button detail at the waist (though it’s nonfunctional). It has tiny back pockets that wont hold much of anything, but add a nice back detail.

What’s old is new again! I have a light denim skort that is at least 20 years old. At that time, skorts revealed the origin of the word: skirt in front and shorts in the back. The front skirt is a ‘wrap’ of material over the shorts, so if the wind picked up, you’d see the shorts in the front too. Mine is a little longer than yours. Very cute look!
