Hello Monday! It’s good to see you again. In case you’re not paying attention, spring arrives this very week-this Thursday, to be exact-and I can’t say I’m disappointed. Yep, it’s time to break up with old man winter once and for all. Lighter and brighter is the name of the game. Warmer temperatures, longer days, greenery, and foliage-spring is a cause for celebration, and that’s a fact! Summer will sneak up on us before you know it, so let’s take the time to appreciate nature’s revival before the heat wave hits. My cherry trees are blooming, and I imagine the dogwoods will be next. I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon working in the yard, pulling weeds, and raking the beds. I cannot wait for my landscapers to arrive for the heavy lifting duties of pruning, mulching, and adding the pine straw. It’s time to head outdoors, gang! Is there anything better than that?!

Spring Outfit: Matching Separates
Matching Separates
(Talbots)
I know, I know, St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone, but today’s ootd has the luck of the Irish written all over it! Matching Sets are trending this spring/summer, so I couldn’t resist adding this chic matching set from Talbots to my wardrobe. I love separates because they can mix and match with other items in your closet.ย

Satin Button Front Shirt | Wide Leg Pants | Ivory Blazer (old, similar here, here, and here) | Gold Metallic Slingbacks (old, similar here, and here) | Earrings | Gold Bangles | Caviar Stretch Bracelet | Watchband | Letter Necklace
While this matching set looks like a jumpsuit when worn together, the top can be worn with white denim, a white skirt, or white pants. And the same goes with the pants. That’s what I call a bang for your buck! Today, I wore the satin button-front shirt with the matching pants.ย

To elevate the outfit, I added an ivory blazer (old, similar here, here, and here), the perfect third layer for chilly spring-like temps. The gold metallic slingbacks are old from J.Crew, similar here, here, and here. Add gold earrings and gold bangles, and this girl will be ready to hit the town in style.

5 Spring Dresses for Every Occasion
I adore this outfit and the color, Beth! Did you take your usual Talbots’ size in both the top and the bottom? Please let me know.
I’m so glad they didn’t manufacture from Viscose. I had a beautiful top from Sundance that was Viscose and after one gentle hand wash, it might have fit a 6th grader.
Thanks for today’s inspiration!
Hi Carolina Girl!
Yes, I am wearing my usual size medium/8.
I think you will love this outfit. It’s comfy and chic. A winning combo!
Thanks so much, Beth!!
HI Beth! What a fabulous color! I am struggling with the matching sets that are on trend right now. Every time I try one on, I just canโt get over the โpajamaโ effect it has on me, especially in a silky fabric. It is disappointing because, as you say, the separate pieces would be so versatile and great for travel. Iโll keep tryingโmaybe another proportion would work?
Hi Janet!
Silk or satin fabric gives that loungewear look. If that’s not your cup of tea, look for other fabrics like linen or cotton. There are so many options for matching sets this year. I know there’s one you will love!
