Spring can’t come soon enough this year. We’ve had a long, cold, and dreary winter here in Georgia so I’m more than ready for blue skies, sunshine, birds chirping, and sipping a cold beverage outside on my patio. The weather has recently flirted with spring-like temps so I’m more than happy to slip into a pair of slingbacks and throw on a cotton sweater. Although, the weather can be tricky this time of year. One minute it could be chilly and the next summerlike. Enough about the weather, today, I'm sharing classic spring wardrobe essentials.

My closet undergoes a major spring cleaning as we transition from one season to the next. It can be a daunting task but it doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s time to pack up my bulky wool sweaters and retire my boots until fall.
Light layers are your best friend and are key for transitioning from winter to spring. Lightweight sweaters, cardigans, and a spring jacket or raincoat are all great places to start. And just because it’s time to transition our wardrobe from one season to another doesn’t mean you need to buy entirely new clothing.
So let’s shop our closet first and bring those lightweight fabrics and spring colors from the back of your closet to the front and center. Now you can see what basics are missing in your wardrobe and start filling the holes with items that make getting dressed easier when spring is in full bloom.
Blazers have always been an essential power piece that was the perfect choice for the office. But then it turned into the perfect third layer popped over a white tee and denim. Standard offerings like black or navy crepe are always a good choice.
I'm really looking forward to shedding my sweaters in favor of tees. Keep the neutrals on hand with white, gray, and black in a crewneck, v-neck, scoop neck, or bateau neck.
But don't forget a classic white tee, especially this time of year. And definitely add whimsy to your wardrobe with a graphic tee. They look fantastic underneath cardigans, jean jackets, and moto jackets.
Spring jackets are a must-have, not only for warmth but for style. Y’all know I love a good moto jacket and have featured them countless times over the years.
Moto jackets are classic, trendy, and always on point. what a lovely departure from denim jackets or raincoats.
Another iconic light third layer for spring is a classic trench coat. This coat is an icon for a reason, few clothing items have had a more enduring presence in our closets than a Trench Coat, it's also one of the few outerwear pieces that can go from a man's closet, to a woman's closet with ease and style.
This one is an obvious choice for a timeless classic. Much like pearls, you can elevate any outfit by wearing a button-up – but this is also true for a soft silk blouse. A Silk top is a perfect way to add a flirtatious, feminine look to your outfit.

Spring is especially fun for changing out our footwear. Heavy winter shoes are swapped for lighter styles that bring a pep to your step.
Strappy Sandals - Always a favorite when the weather warms up, strappy sandals are an essential part of my spring and summer wardrobe.
Slingbacks - Slingbacks are the IT shoe for spring and summer this year. Easy to wear, slingbacks are comfortable and bring a sophisticated look to your outfit.
Denim is always on trend, year after year, no matter the season. Styles come and go, but the material itself will always reign supreme. There are so many ways to wear denim; shirts, pants, skirts, dresses…and there are so many great styles to choose from in 2024.
Denim Shirt - Dress it up or down, a chambray or denim western shirt is a classic wardrobe staple.
