we’re stepping into spring today with a lighter color palette and a spring wardrobe staple, the mighty green military jacket. as we all know, springtime temps bounce all over the map. mornings can be chilly, while afternoons can be warm. that’s when a third layer comes into play. cardigans, blazers, and jackets all work overtime when the season transitions from winter to spring.
while the temps in Georgia were glorious last week, flirting big time with seventy-plus degrees. can you say spring fever? it was all i could do to stay tethered to my desk. every chance i had, i stepped outside to work on a “project.” filling my bird feeder counts as serious work. right?! at least my feathered friends are happy! but as we know, all good things come to an end as the weather forecast this week is gloomy and cold. however, my new landscape welcomes the rain that blew into town. and it’s so much easier to get some work done when the skies are gray with big splats of raindrops falling to the ground.
today’s ootd is my go-to look on any given day. it kicks off with a spring wardrobe staple – a green military jacket. remember that green acts as a neutral. even olive green. this military jacket (limited sizes similar here, here, and here) was purchased last year at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. it’s fast become a favorite jacket with a striped lining and drawstring waist that can be cinched into a peplum. it’s perfect to wear on a crisp fall day or chilly spring morning. today i paired it with a classic button-down with an on-trend print from Anthropologie (limited sizes similar here and here). white denim (size 8) from Talbots looks so crisp and clean this time of year, and i love to wear suede booties with white jeans. they’re perfect companions. last but not least, i’m trotting out a new crossbody handbag in soft pebbled leather from Coach with a soft spring color palette.

The link to the suede Chelsea booties is different from the ones you are wearing. Can you share the brand you are wearing? Thanks, so cute with the tiny ruffle detail!
same brand – Talbots. my booties are two to three years old. Talbots trots out a new version each year.
Such a snappy outfit!
I love earth tones for transitional dressing; white jeans add such a kick of summer here. BTW, I picked up a similar jacket with cute brass hardware at TJMaxx a couple of years ago for $30. Maxx offers a good selection of trendy styles at a very reasonable price if you have time to wade through the racks.
it’s al about time and effort at T.J. Maxx. but you’r right. you can stumble on some great finds.
Perfection today! Theme, everything! Am loving your OOTD look from head to toe. Kudos to Jr Style for such beautiful photographic work! ~
awww, thanks for noticing the photographs, sylvia! he’s doing an excellent job.
Very cute. Love it! I have a light mustard colored utility/military jacket that I bought last fall that would work also.
ooohhh, that sounds like a gorgeous color!
I wish it would be warm here today-the high is projected to be 40F. We woke up to snow this morning. Brrrr!!!
Neat outfit. I find I go more casual in the summer. Loved the sun glasses. I love leopard. Are the sun glasses new? Are they available now???
the sunglasses are about six years old from Prada.
Loved everything about your outfit. You look awesome. Enjoy your day.
always love an easy peasy outfit!
We hit 80 yesterday so I think Winter is going straight to Summer. Love the blouse.
I love the way you keep changing backgrounds in your photos. Outside settings are always more interesting. I’d keep Jr. style if I were you. : )
hopefully, summer will restrain itself. nothing better than spring-like temps!
You are so right, Beth! A green military jacket is indeed very versatile. In another of your blogs I loved the lavender waffle sweater with your green military pants. This green is so perfect for the Spring colors this year. Who would have guessed!
i love green of any shade. and this year we’re seeing more of it than usual which i love.
Beautiful as always but how can you wear all of the clothes you model and where do you store them?
when i clean my closet twice a year i donate the clothes i don’t keep. but i do have a lovely, spacious closet that helps me stay organized.
