And just like that, it’s time to start a new week! The march to the Superbowl continues, with the Chiefs facing off against the Ravens and Lions playing the 49ers next weekend! It was a cold weekend, so it was a no-brainer to curl up on the couch and turn the games on. I’ve been cheering for the Chiefs; they’re still in the mix. We’ll see what happens next weekend. Last week, I shared a similar outfit to today's ootd, although this one is a bit more casual, it’s a great winter style formula: Skirt + Tall Boots.

Give me all the faux leather all winter long, and I particularly like this faux leather skirt that’s decidedly sporty and looks fantastic with knee-high boots. With all of the after-Christmas sales, I feel as if my boot closet is looking good!

These tall black boots are waterproof and have a lug sole that’s on trend. Stretch fabric in the back is a boon for those who have large calves.

Brown and black is a chic color combination borrowed straight from the boys. It’s easy to add a brown blazer or brown jacket to a monochromatic black outfit. I’ve had this suede jacket (similar here) from Ralph Lauren hanging in my closet for years, and love to trot it out every chance I get.

It would be great to see a photo of the jacket zipped up.
I’m certain if you searched the archives you would find a photo of this jacket zipped. But I only zip it if it’s cold. Style wise an unzipped jacket is the better option.
Great outfit! Do you have any tips on how to wear hose/tights with dresses/skirts so that the dress/skirt does not stick to the hose/tights? I love the look of black hose/tights with black boots but cannot seem to wear them together without the skirt sticking to the hose/tights when I walk. Thanks for all the great ideas and looks!
A slip comes in handy if you’re having troubles with tights clinging.
Hope this helps!
You look very polished. Very nice I have a jacket similar. Thank you again.
Thanks, Sally! This is one of my all-time favorite jackets. It goes with everything.
