Happy Thursday! Today I am styling a dress I scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. You may remember seeing me try this on in our Dressing Room Diary Part 1. For me, this dress is great because it falls into the wear-it-now, wear-it-later category. Today I am styling it for summer, and I have put together a collage of how I plan to style it in the fall – it’s all about a Summer Dress: Wear it Now, Wear it Later.
Over the last few weeks, I have been trying to style the items I purchased to share with you how I am wearing them in real life. It’s been a little tough though since items sell out quickly! I will say that one item I ordered online sold out and was cancelled, but since I had it in my wishlist, I was notified when it came back in stock and I was able to re-order it. So that’s always an option. All this leads up to me saying that this dress is nearly sold out, but I have gathered more wear it now, wear it later floral dress styles at the end of the post.

As I mentioned, I was drawn to this dress for its wearabilty through a few seasons. The color combination of olive green and a muted pink and cream lend it to working in Summer, Fall and Spring. I also like that I can wear it casual, unbelted, with flat slide sandals, or I can change up my accessories and dress it up a little for a casual date night, which is how I have styled it today.

Adding a summer vibe to an outfit is easy when you incorporate woven wicker and straw accessories. A pair of espadrilles, wedges, or flats, instantly takes your outfit to summer. Continue the look with a woven raffia belt and clutch.

There aren’t any tricks to taking a dress from summer to fall. It’s really all in the color palette. Look for colors that lend themselves to fall hues, neutrals and/or muted tones. Then, you can complete and compliment the fall look with your accessories.
