it’s always easier to step into monday morning wearing a terrific outfit. and what’s better than a flirty feminine ruffle? especially when it’s tough enough to pair with an old school classic. today’s it’s trend meets tradition and i’m loving the mashup.

but first a little shoe love with these marc fisher shoes available at QVC. this sandal takes its cue from an ootd that’s feminine and masculine rolled into one. the perfect yin and yang. and that’s what style is all about. balancing both elements.
a silk blouse is a classic through and through especially in an off-white color. and there’s lot’s of shirts to choose from with different price points. here’s a favorite brand as well as this one.
this wrap skirt is available at Target and will serve me well all through the summer months and into fall thanks to its neutral color. but it’s the sassy ruffle that makes this outfit sing. if brown isn’t your color then this skirt in white is perfect for these hot summer days. or this one in chambray.
a classic handbag is a great choice any day of the week. but it is a perfect compliment with a neutral color scheme. and adds a layer of texture which is akin to adding another color into the mix.
the gold necklace reinforces the gold found in the studs of the shoe and hardware from the handbag. while it’s perfectly fine to mix metals i chose to keep things simple and subdued today. after all, we’re easing into the work week with subtle sophistication. yes, it’s monday, ladies time to get in gear. make it a good one!

I love that last photo of you. You look so cool and confidant. That skirt is amazing. I’ll be headed over to Target very soon. Great summer outfit. Love everything!!
you will absolutely love this skirt, diane! it’s tough and feminine and the perfect length. what more do we want?!

Oh what a marvellous skirt Beth, fits so well ! That last picture is outstanding.
this skirt will serve me well, lorena! and as for my photographer he is simply the best.

The J Crew version of this skirt style is much longer and almost “too dramatic,” and it was also way more expensive, and I kind of think theirs was a bit over the top–this one is much more flattering, in my opinion. Looks great with the simple white shirt and pretty sandals.
i think the length is what makes this skirt, sue! it’s perfect and flattering on everyone. and who can argue with the price?!
happy monday, kiddo.
