when the heat turns up, it’s time to get creative with date night. all three of our kiddos will be visiting this weekend, so we finagled our schedule for an evening out together before the boys arrive on our doorstep. the wide-leg pants are back in action they were last seen here and here. as well as a tunic top from one of our local boutiques fab rik that has an online presence as well as brick and mortar. i’m always impressed with their contemporary selections and sales associates that are as cute as buttons and ever so helpful. when i spied this baby blue tunic i knew it would be going home with me. this particular shade of blue can be a challenge to find but is one of my favorites. and we all know how i feel about the color blue… since the ootd is pure simplicity, this is when i take advantage of bold accessories. notice the pops of gold that are found in each piece of jewelry and the straw handbag. this is what brings unity to the overall look. remember, details, details, details. a simple pair of sandals and mr. style and i going to paint the town blue. if it were red, that might require we stay out past midnight. and we all know what happens then.

You did a great job of using complementary color that make it all pop, too–just the tiny touches of orange are perfection. Great color!
Blue looks great on all of us silver gals! Enjoy your visit with your boys. xoxo
Oh so soft and feminine! I love the light blue with the white. But the low draping back of that shirt is the killer touch! LOVE your date night outfit! Just remember, don’t kiss and tell.
