What is Old is New Again: a Tried and True Spring Outfit
What’s old is new again. And that’s never truer than with my go-to brands. Every year, like clockwork, Talbots, J.Crew, Banana Republic, and Ann Taylor trot out perennial favorites. Lace trim blouses, eyelet tops, A-Line skirts, linen pants, chino shorts, linen blazers, cotton tanks, sheath dresses, fringe tweed blazers, or boardwalk shorts. These are the tried and true items that we buy year after year. Many are classics that stand the test of time. Others are current trending favorites to keep our wardrobes modern and fresh.

I was thrilled to notice this matching crochet set from Ann Taylor (old, in camel, and navy) is available again this year! I purchased my matching set last spring, and let me tell you, this set gets a lot of mileage all spring and summer.

Since they’re separates, they can mix and match with other items in my wardrobe, or if the temperatures heat up, I can wear the shell all on its own. But the jacket/sweater is lightweight and acts as the perfect third layer over shorts, pants, skirts or dresses.

For spring, I paired the crochet shell and jacket with another perennial favorite from J.Crew, the Astrid Chino, which is available in three colors. It’s a comfy pull-on pant with an elastic waistband.

A wide leather wrap belt from ADA Belts is the perfect accessory. Since the temps are warming up, I slipped into a pair of sandals (old, similar here, here, and here). Before you know it, I’ll be wearing swimsuits and shorts!
