y’all know my love affair with pink runs deep. so it comes as no surprise that a pink tee and a pink sweater came along with me to Tybee Island. and i have to sing the praises of this sleeveless sweater from J.Crew. it’s fuschia trimmed in navy, oh so comfy to wear, and it’s lightweight and breathable. what more can you ask for from a summer top? except that it’s on sale! this sweater can be worn with pretty much anything. today i went for a beach bum look that included a pair of jean shorts that reminded me of shorts i wore back in the ’70s. this is my version of what to wear on a beach vacation daytime.
this week at Tybee Island has been downright relaxing. after i drink my coffee, i pack my beach bag and head to the beach. let me tell you mother nature smiled down on me ‘cuz it’s been one sun-filled day after another with nothing but blue skies and balmy breezes. around three or four i pack up my gear and head for home that’s a cute rental house with a view over the river flowing into the Atlantic. then a quick shower, a nap, and around 6:30 it’s time to head out to a local cafe. and this cute little number i’m wearing is perfect for most of the Island fare restaurants. this week we’ve eaten at AJ’s, Sting Ray’s, The Crab Shack, North Beach Bar and Grill, and Chamacos. so many restaurants so little time.

the best part of a beach vacation is the laid back attire. swimsuits, jean shorts, and tee’s all got a nod this week. but i did throw in a dress for good measure as well as the cutest silk drawstring pants. be sure to read what to wear on a beach vacation day 1 or what to wear on a beach vacation swimsuit edition.

So glad you’re having beautiful weather. Just curious, do you pack a lunch to take to the beach? I love having a sandwich and Diet Pepsi on the beach each day. Of course the down side is making trips to the beach house for bathroom breaks from the sodas!

Hi, Beth! You look so great in your holyday outfit!!! And your words are written pur of my soul! Like you, I enyoy the beach days, the taste of the water and the air! At the end of august we are driving to Italy, upper adria. There we have an appartement beside the beach and during these lockdown time there was no day, that I did‘nt dream of staying in Grado. I looked at the photos and listened to la musica italiana and wished to be there!

Such a nice time for you. I love a beach vacation. Well, it’s not Tybee Island, but today we are taking our folding chairs, and a bunch of snacks in a cooler and will sit on the shore of Lake Ontario and watch our granddaughters play in the sand and water, and we will sit and chat with our daughter.
