mix and mingle
it’s time to get your party on! holiday party attire that is. and i’m kicking off the season with a faux fur vest. it’s the perfect mix of whimsy and cold-weather coverage. i particularly like to wear it over this mockneck sweater that has a little bling goin’ on around the neck. but what about these tailored, ankle length pants? the jewel tones and shiny finish give it just enough glamor without going over the top. i kept the accessories to a minimum to let this ootd take center stage. but the earrings and brooch add just enough sparkle that’s absolutely necessary when it’s time to mix and mingle.

I don’t ever comment on your OOTDs because I love them all! It would be an endless stream of “Great outfit!”. But I can’t stay quiet today. I love this look on you! It’s beautiful and elegant and at the same time fun and warm and comfortable looking. Brava!! I am inspired to try something like this but I’m not sure it would work on my short (5′ 1″) frame. Any suggestions?
hi christine! thank you for stopping by. the key to dressing for any height is always about proportions. first, i’m certain you shop in the petite section, because petites are scaled to fit 5’4″ and shorter. for this ootd keep in mind the vest should hit mid-thigh, and the pants should graze the ankle. if not, a good tailor can tweak the items to the right length. proportion is critical. but that goes for every height and shape. it’s all about the fit. if you get that right you’ll look fabulous.

i love the contrast between the faux fur vest and these fancy pants! and i’ll stay toasty warm to boot. sometimes the venues picked for holiday parties are drafty.
