Happy Thursday! Winter has arrived in Athens! This week has been so cold. I know this is relative assessment, but the ‘40s in Athens feels a lot colder to me than it did when I lived in Alaska! Now that we’re on to the Christmas countdown, and though Winter doesn’t officially arrive until December 21 with the solstice, I am breaking out my winter coats and sweaters. Today’s outfit reminds of the light in winter, rosy pink skies at sunrise and sunset, and the neutral brown tones that have replaced the lush green landscape – it’s Wintry Tones for the Holidays.

The Fairbanks Pant in this dusty rose color is not available in petites, but I like the color so much that I went with regular sizing and had the hem brought up a bit. These pants are a dream to wear. I love the drape and the center seam gives them a built-in center crease that adds polish.
I have several cashmere sweaters in different colors and styles from J.Crew. This one is the Cashmere Classic Fit Crewneck Sweater. I don’t think one can have too many of these sweaters; they wear well. Just hand wash them, or wash in a mesh bag on delicate, and let them dry flat. I use these OXO folding, stackable flat drying racks. This particular sweater, I have had for years and I think it’s a great investment.
For my accessories, I am still loving these T-Strap Loafers, even with the cooler temps. These are sold out, but I found a similar T-Strap Loafer. My Villa Coat is from last year, but it’s back again this year at J.Crew. For a similar version, check out the Button Neck City Coat. The Transport Shoulder Crossbody seems to be sold out in the maroon color, but the style is available in three colors, including black, green and tan. This bag is popular so I expect it to stay in Madewell’s rotation, hopefully with new colors!

Hello Beth! I have a question on the tennis shoes you styled yesterday with your beautiful dress. I have never seen a sneaker at that price point. Can you give some insight on the difference that makes them worththe splurge? I’m very hard on shoes and do have funky feet. Thank you!
