Happy Thursday night, ladies! As you well know, in a lot of ways, I like to keep things simple over here on the blog. And while I'm a big believer in classic style, I also recognize that while we may get older, outfits themselves don't have ages, only sizes. So today, I want to talk about 5 classic trends you're never too old to wear.
And when I saw "never too old", I mean that these trends will never really go out of style; but more importantly, you and I will never be too old to wear them, especially if we incorporate them into an already classic wardrobe.
So tonight, I want to show you how to comfortably wear:
"Overalls", you say? "You have to be kidding me... "
Nope. Not at all. These are 5 trends I truly believe women of all ages can comfortably and stylishly pull off without too much trouble.
Today, I'm focusing on 5 trends you're not too old to wear
For each trend, I'm showing you how I've worn that trend in the past
For trend, I've created an outfit and picked 3 of my favorite versions of that trend

It's still hot outside. True. No denying. But fall truly is right around the corner, like it or not. And while I'm not going to put on a pair of (faux) leather pants in the next few weeks, by the time end of September/early October rolls around, I'll be reaching for them, for sure.
And while I love leather jeggings and an oversized sweatshirt or sweater, don't overlook modern flared or ankle cut to incorporate into your fall wardrobe.
Short length is a never-ending debate between women of all ages. Regardless, I'm never turning mine in. No way. No how.
Loving Ann Taylor's boardwalk shorts the most this year. But don't overlook Talbots' classic Perfect Short. You really can't go wrong with either, no matter what you pair them with.
And for anyone that's been following the blog closely this year, I'm big into FARM Rio. And in my opinion, this Bananas Cotton Blouse would go great with any of my short picks.
Probably the most nostalgic of all my picks today, you're never too old for a pair of overalls.
I'm partial to a lighter washed paired with a classic stripe, I have to admit, I have my eye on these cotton overalls from Eileen Fischer.
Eileen Fisher always has a new and interesting take on an old favorite, and this is no exception. Pair them with a fun button-up or a classic t-shirt. They'll carry you into fall and beyond.
Every quarter, I try to get in a dedicated post celebrating the fun and beauty of a graphic tee. Feel a bit over the top? Fair. But it's hard to overstate how much I love graphic tees.s
Let me put it this way: there actually is no better pairing than a denim jacket and a graphic tee.
From Chelsea Boots to mules, lug sole shoes are not just for Gen X-ers in 1991. They're still relevant; and still wearable by our generation---or any generation for that matter.
Today, I've paired them with a classic leather/denim outfit. Probably the safest way to get your feet wet (or keep them dry), if you've never worn lug sole before.
Board: Leather Shacket | High-Rise Flare Jeans (Madewell) | Lug Sole Boots (Nordstrom) Budget Alternatives: Ribbed Cardigan (Target) | Higher High-Waisted Jeans (Old Navy) | Lace Up Combat Boots (Target)

You look especially cute in today’s styles. While I am not a fan of overalls, I say go for it kiddo, they look great. I have always been a fan of leather/ pleather pants. Love them. I think all of these looks present an element of surprise which is refreshing.
I first learned about Talbots from you and I am in Australia and now I have decided that I need a pair of overalls and a leather Jacket as it is so cold where we live in the hills actually almost the Bunya Mountains.
I love everything you are wearing in today’s blog.I love the look of motto jacket with jeans or leather pants. You look great. It is so much my style and I always wondered if it was not age appropriate at my age of 62 but you convinced me that it looks great .
Like all your outfits, except for the overalls ls. I have never cared for them. If you like them, I say go for them. Different strokes. Love the faux leather pants. I bought a pair last falls when you showed them.
I am a big proponent of wearing whatever makes you feel comfortable & confident. Just because I wouldn’t wear it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. I’ll be me, & you be you. That’s what makes the world a better place.
I echo your sentiments today, Becky. Thank you. ~cbp
