Whether it’s a creamy Irish coffee with a touch of whiskey and a dollop of whipped cream, a refreshing Baileys-infused cocktail, or a zesty green apple martini, these drinks bring a fun and flavorful twist to the celebration. A Cozy St. Patrick’s Day at Home
Many of my St. Patrick’s Day Fridays have been spent at home, whipping up comforting dishes and enjoying the simplicity of a well-prepared meal. A standout recipe was a traditional Irish stew, slow-cooked to perfection with tender lamb, hearty potatoes, and fresh herbs. And let’s not forget the homemade soda bread—the perfect companion to any Irish meal, warm from the oven and slathered with butter. We dish up lots of good recipes on Style at a Certain Age. One of my favorites was a Nicoise Sandwich, which is decidedly French, not Irish… but delicious nonetheless. Stylish and Green: What to Wear
It wouldn’t be Style at a Certain Age without a little fashion inspiration! Over the years, I’ve styled some effortless yet festive looks featuring shades of green, classic plaids, and cozy knitwear. Whether it was a chic emerald blazer paired with dark denim or a soft sage-green cashmere sweater, these looks embodied St. Patrick’s Day elegance without being over the top. And of course, Oscar always joined in the fun, sometimes sporting a festive bandana to match the occasion. I love to look back at where we were and where we are today. Outdoor Adventures with Oscar
Oscar has been the star of Fridays with Oscar for years, and St. Patrick’s Day posts have always been the perfect excuse to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Whether it was a scenic walk through blooming spring landscapes or a simple backyard moment basking in the sunshine, these posts remind us to appreciate life’s little moments—especially when they’re spent with a loyal four-legged friend. How cute was Oscar as a puppy? FWO December 2015 and FWO January 2015. But this is one of my all-time favorite photos with Oscar when we introduced him to the beach FWO August 2015.
