The weather outside might not be frightful yet, but I’m prepared. Coat season is here to stay. At least for the next few months. When I lived in Minnesota, I had coats for every occasion. Long coats, short coats, raincoats, puffer coats, and, of course, a classic wool coat. Today, I’m trotting out a double-breasted coat with muted shades of gray, camel, and white.
Gotta love those fall days when the sun is shining overhead with expanses of blue sky. November doesn’t always deliver such delicious treats. She’s known to be moody, with gray skies swirling overhead and a few snow flurries thrown in for good measure. Growing up in the midwest, it was always a relief if we made it to Thanksgiving with no snow on the ground. Believe you me, every day without snow was a good one ‘cuz we all knew Old Man Winter would soon be knocking on our door. Oh sure, I love a good snowfall, especially the first one of the season. It’s magical to wake up to a blanket of white. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Right? So many of our beloved Christmas Carols sing the praises of snow. But come March? The party is over, ladies. Snowflakes turn to slush, and the whimsy disappears. And coat season drags on and on and on. But I digress. We’re still in the first blush of chilly weather when it’s a treat to throw on an overcoat.
Today’s ootd couldn’t be easier to pull together. White denim. √ Sweater. √ Boots. √ Coat. √ Honestly, a sweater and a pair of jeans are old-school cool-girl chic. It’s a style recipe that never gets old. White denim from Frame has been my go-to all year long. They’re the perfect length to show off a pair of Chelsea booties without having to finagle a cuff. What goes with white denim? Technically, every color under the rainbow. But I love the classic combo of camel and white that always looks right. A camel turtleneck looks fantastic peeking out from beneath a coat. And there’s no need to don a scarf when a turtleneck is in play. But what about this plaid overcoat? It ties the color scheme together from head to toe. For a sporty look, a leather saddlebag from Patricia Nash will get you compliments galore.

Oh my! Beautiful! Living in Florida doesn’t require a coat. But you look fabulous,! And we can only wear a sweater for an hour or so in the mornings!
so true! fashion is so much different when there’s but one season. but you get sunshine and blue skies instead.
Sadly this coat has limited sizes left! I love your coat selections – I wish I knew earlier 🙁 You look so awesome in this ensemble!
i wish i had control over the supply chain. sadly, i do not.
Love this combination of the plaid coat with the white jeans. You look great in this!
