Fridays are for entertaining, and of course our favorite German Shepherd, Oscar. Do I have a delicious and easy recipe on deck today as well as a yummy cocktail!
Can you believe I can finally focus on the holidays? Yes, the basement renovation is finished and it’s beautiful! My life just got 110% easier as Oscar and Ollie have the entire house back in working order. The basement has always been one of their favorite haunts as it’s cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Last night they sprawled out on the couch and chairs and I curled up to watch LaLa Land. I have a sweet new sound system so a musical was just the ticket to give it a trial run. I had forgotten just how sweet that movie is in so many ways.
Easy holiday recipe with Natural Delights
There’s nothing I love more than entertaining friends and family in my home. But I never like to stress out with complicated menus whether it’s a sit-down meal or a quick and easy appetizer. Today’s recipe couldn’t be easier to make as it only has three ingredients. It all starts with a nutritious and delicious Medjool date from Natural Delights loaded with fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Medjool dates are great snacks all on their own but they’re a delightful treat when you add blue cheese and prosciutto. It’s a sweet and savory delight sure to please a crowd.
Natural Delights Medjool Dates are raised on sunshine in the deserts of the southwest USA. Medjool dates require high heat and low humidity. Natural Delights is committed to sustainability, so there are no pesticides and no additives.
Natural Delights also offers Dark Chocolate Covered Medjool Dates available on Amazon. If you are short on time this is an easy option to serve your guests. I love to keep one or two cartons on hand to make my life easy. And they look so festive on a holiday tray.
With a small paring knife, slit each date lengthwise and spread open just enough to remove the pit while leaving the date intact. Fill the cavity of each date with a small piece of blue cheese and fold the date over the cheese, pressing it back into its original shape.
Cut a strip of prosciutto as wide as each date is long and wrap it around twice, enclosing the date almost completely. Place the dates on a sheet pan and bake for about 8 minutes, until the prosciutto is browned and the cheese starts to melt.
Cool slightly and serve warm.

Today’s ootd is also easy peasy. Take one green cashmere sweater from Ann Taylor and mix it with one faux suede pant (sold out, similar here and here). Add gold metallic shoes and this outfit is in the bag. Party bag that is considering it’s the holidays!
A big thank you to Natural Delights for this sponsored post. And thank you lovely readers for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.

The basement renovation looks really beautiful.
I bet you are over thrilled that it’s done and you can get order back into your life. Congratulations for a job well done. I bet the fur babies are thrilled to have such comfortable quarters to hang out in.
We went through kitchen and master bathroom renovations a few years ago and we had some speedbumps along the way that were pretty major. Once everything was done it was such a welcome relief. I understand what renovations are all about. It’s not easy to live with, but the end result is worth the mess.
Congrats on the renos Beth!
And in time for Christmas too what a relief. Now you can enjoy it all.
Great recipes — I eat Medjool dates like candy so I’m now going to fancy them up using your recipe!
Take care
Sandra
Wow, just wow. I don’t know where to start food and drink to die for- and that outfit! I have never seen you wear head to toe green before and it looks amazing on you. I love that holiday lip, and I see I wasn’t the only one – grin. Maybe Mac has a doppelgänger for it – Christmas wishes.
Your table designs are truly one of my fav parts of your seasonal posts. Anything you would serve on that table would delight. Enjoy your holidays, Beth.
The photos on this post are stunning! Love your outfit. That shade of green suits you well. And Oscar of course is absolutely adorable! Happy weekend to you!
Fabulous again! Love the outfit and ohhhh, those shoes! But the price tag…ugh!
Your outfit is so beautiful. The fact that it’s a casual look, but is so elegant. I love it! Just the way I love to dress.
The drink; yum! Can’t wait to try it.
Thanks Beth. Just love and look forward to your posts!
I love your table setting. So festive! Your chocolate peppermint martini sounds delicious! I’ll be making this soon! Oscar is one handsome devil! Such a beautiful face, and… those eyes!! Love seeing him on Fri.
