Happy Tuesday, ladies. Did anyone else catch the Oscars? I have to admit, I didn’t watch them live. But they sure made the news—probably not what they were hoping for. I am on the hunt for new-ish movies. So if anyone has recommendations, leave them in the comments below! We’ve got a classic OOTD for you today: an Eileen Fisher collar dress styled 2 ways—sort of. Also, just want to throw this on your radar:
SAACA has a big announcement Thursday.
Don’t worry. We’ll announce it over email and across my social channels. But it is our biggest in a long time. So stay tuned.
We’ve been all about dresses on the blog lately. Sunday, we brought you a Spring Guide to Dresses. Yesterday, I rounded up a great selection of dresses from Kohl’s. Today, I’ve got a Mandarin Collar Dress from Eileen Fisher.
For my first look, I styled this simple linen shift dress with a pair of quilted sneakers, also from Eileen Fisher. Couldn’t be simpler, really. I’ve really been feeling sneakers this Spring, and these are super comfy. Paired with white, matching sunglasses, you’re ready for a full day out. No muss. No fuss.
Mandarin Collar Dress (Eileen Fisher) | Quilted Sneakers (Eileen Fisher, three colors) | Sandals (Tuckernuck) | Straw Handbag (Mark & Graham) | Station Necklace (old, similar here and here, from Tory Burch) | Earrings | Watchband | Bangle | Sunglasses
The second “look” is as simple as swapping out the sneakers for a pair of sandals from Tuckernuck. I love what little changes to an outfit can do, especially with shoes and accessories. Headed to the beach this year? This is the perfect look.
And I have to say, I always have a special place in my heart for Mark & Graham. This simple straw handbag does not disappoint. Classic look and feel. It’ll work well with a lot of the Spring outfits we’ve put together this year.

Both my sunglasses and sandals have made our real vs. deal list this year. In case you missed it, I’ll repost below.
Prada sunglasses are iconic but pricey. No doubt. Want the look but don’t want to break the bank? I’ve rounded up four more budget-friendly dupes/copies of these sunglasses below.
We’re all familiar with the iconic Hermès Sandals. Totally gorgeous. Totally classic. Very similar to what I featured above. And are they not perfect for Spring? Today, I’ve rounded up four more budget-friendly dupes/copies of those sandals below.

I find they always make linen dresses wayyyy too short….I am 5’3” so it is not that I am tall….I guess you can use it as a beach cover up….
I am close to 5’8″ so I am confident this dress would fall below your knees. It’s all about your comfort level when it comes to dress or skirt lengths. I’m still loving above the knee, especially during the warmer months.
I like 95 percent of what you post. Can’t win them all. This reminds of a beach cover up or maternity dress. Maybe if it wasn’t so short or baggy. No offense, you can’t like everything. That is what fashion is al about.
My job is to introduce you to new ideas whether that’s makeup, skincare, exercise, a healthy diet, or clothes. Style is always about personal preference and what makes YOU feel confident. It’s funny but our demographic still looks at outfits as win or lose. Not sure why…
Good morning Beth,
Sometimes you’re the Louisville Slugger, sometimes you’re the ball🤷♀️
Hit or miss…thanks for showing us the options out there!
Yep, it’s always about options and what fits into YOUR style. Me? I love lots of different choices and have FUN with fashion.
Talking of movies-
Thoroughly enjoyed “Phantom of the Open” – a sweet feel good movie 👍
I will have to check that one out! Thanks so much for the recommendation.
My immediate thought was beach coverup as well. The dress seems to hang oddly in the front and is not helped by the short length, so it’s a rare miss for me in terms of style. Accessories are nice.
It might be a miss for you but it’s a hit in someone else’s eyes. Style is always about what YOU feel comfortable wearing. If you’re more tailored and buttoned up then a flowy dress isn’t your thing. But if you love a little boho chic or it’s a hot summer day then this dress is right up your alley.
I know this silhouette is in style, but to me it does nothing to flatter. I appreciate the range of ideas you present to us, however!
Well, let me know your thoughts on a hot summer day! This is that go-to item that’s cute, comfy, and beats the heat in style.
I like the dress but way too short!
Are there any dresses that come to the knee or just below for the mature women out there😊
Too many to choose from this year as the midi has made a comeback. I hope you read our Sunday post where we rounded up quite a few choices.

As a matter of fact, I think this is the first above knee dress I’ve featured this year.
I have a dip-dye Eileen Fisher linen dress and LOVE IT for the summer. It always goes to the beach with me also … and whenever I wear it, I wear it as a dress, not a beach coverup!
I love your look and enjoy the variety of your posts.
It is the perfect summer dress in so many ways! I had hoped it arrived before my Mexico trip as it would have come in handy.
My husband and I rented the movie Dog with Channing Tatum. I cried a few times. It’s a little slow at the beginning. But it gets better. I love your dress. I have one almost like that. I haven’t worn it yet. But I will when it gets and stays warmer. I’m not sure if I could wear the sandals. I need more support.
thanks for the recommendation!
Hi Beth!
You work so hard to bring your readers lots of options on living with style and grace and we are so appreciative! However, I have to agree with the other comments that this dress misses the mark on several points. I like the idea of a cool, breezy linen dress for sweltering days, but you could do so much better than this one—just my opinion, though!
thanks for stopping by! but i will just mention that this dress misses the mark in your eyes. style is always about personal preference so if this isn’t your thing it isn’t. but eileen fisher knows that this is the perfect dress for many, many women.
Well, I love the look and I am so surprised by those who do not. Not everything works for everyone. This look works for me. Thank you, Beth! And see CODA. It is outstanding.
CODA was the only Oscar nominated movie I’ve seen. It was precious! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Beth, The film 2nd film of Downton Abbey is being released soon in the UK
