style hacks are abundant and always make it easier to get dressed in the morning and keep our style game strong. but anti-aging beauty hacks help keep our skin in tip-top condition, so it’s important to incorporate those into our skincare routine. today, i share five anti-aging beauty hacks that will keep your skin looking vibrant.
SPF
there’s no doubt we all know the importance of sunscreen. it’s a vital step to protect our face from harmful UV rays that break down collagen leading to thinner skin and signs of aging. but there are other areas just as delicate as our face that need protection too. next time you apply sunscreen, remember to add some to your ears, neck, decollétage, and hands. hands are the first place that shows signs of aging, so give them the TLC they deserve. SPF is an essential anti-aging beauty hack that protects our skin. Elta MD is an excellent sunscreen choice.
Layer Retin A or Retinol
Retin A is known as the granddaddy of anti-aging skincare, so it’s a no-brainer that it landed on my anti-aging beauty hacks. It helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles and evens skin tone. but it can be harsh on our skin, leaving it red, irritated, and flaky. if you layer moisturizer first, it adds a layer of protection but still allows Retin A or Retinol to do its work.
Layer Concealer and Eye Cream
adding concealer underneath our eyes can sometimes reveal the fine lines that we’re trying to conceal. try adding a dab of eye cream after you apply your concealer. it will leave your skin looking dewy and fresh instead of a caked mess.
Load up on Vitamin C
Vitamin C serum is an antioxidant that protects your skin against the environment and free radicals. it also brightens your skin, evens out skin tone, and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles. lately, i’m loving Skinceuticals C E Ferulic. Olay Vitamin C is a great drugstore alternative. but don’t forget to take Vitamin C tablets as it helps build a strong immune system.
Add Acids/AHA’s
as we age, our skin cells don’t replenish as quickly, leaving us will dull, uneven and tired skin. that’s why it’s important to exfoliate to slough away dead skin cells making way for new skin cells. alpha-hydroxy/glycolic acids or AHA’s are the best exfoliants for mature skin, leaving it smooth and hydrated. Paula’s Choice Advanced Smoothing Treatment can be used daily. Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel is a cult favorite.

Thanks, Beth for this list of anti-aging beauty hacks. I’m always looking for new products to try.
All your products seem very harsh, and as an older women I would be very hesitant to try any of them. I have been using Origins for over 20 years, especially their serum, under eye serum, and night lifting cream. I am often asked if I am in my mid 50’s when indeed I am in my mid 70’s. I wouldn’t hack any of these for those wonderful products, and I never purchase them unless there is a sale of some kind which are frequent.
none of the products are harsh and i use them all regularly with great results. while it’s good to be loyal to a brand your skin will build a tolerance to those products. i would suggest mixing it up from time to time.
I am not fond of the term “anti-aging”. There only one way to stop aging. Society (and people wanting to sell us their products) have us brainwashed that we have done something wrong by getting older. Especially women.
Thanks for listening..
Thanks for the great post, as always, Beth.
We all age differently, and I’ve been very fortunate to look much younger than I am. That being said, I think Sunscreen, water, good nutrition and allergies have served me well. Allergies have denied my use of anything strong on my skin and sunscreen has allowed me to fill my heart with the simple joys of fresh air, wine and flower gardening.
Looking at my all too imperfect life , and training myself to find something to be grateful for, no matter what, even in deaths, I believe is the best anti-age serum out there.
That being said – our journeys are our own – enjoy. 🌷
Thanks for helping us kick off fall with a great reminder to continue to take care of our skin as the seasons change. I especially like hacks 2 and 3!
I was first introduced to the Skin Ceuticals line over 15 years at my favorite spa and I can honestly say they are probably the best products I have used. I thought I would try Paula’s Choice after reading out their line. I first tried the AHA products, but didn’t see much change. I then ordered the BHA and it is more effective, and it has never irritated my skin in any way. I also use gycolic peel pads several times a week, and recently started using the ROC retinal cream for eye area. I also use Vit. C with ferulic acid every morning, and either use use a Retinal serum, or Retin A at night and then moisturize. I think no matter what we use for our skin care, consistent use that is most important. I cleanse my face early in the evening around 7:00, so I can’t use the excuse I’m too tired. It’s one more self care step we can all take. I think American women are more concerned with skin care than some other countries. I was in Milan a couple of years ago, and although the women my age look chic and dress elegantly when out for an evening stroll with their husbands, their skin appeared very sun damaged. Interesting?
Thank you so much for sharing. I will definitely try this on. And hopefully, I will be able to keep my face glowing until the end. No matter what my age.
exactly! that’s what skincare should do. give us plump, hydrated radiant skin.
