Last week when I was shopping in Paris I spied this gorgeous faux fur green coat. It’s from a luxury brand and the price tag was sky high! But the wheels started to turn in my head as I have a brand collaboration with Walmart this month and knew there was something similar and affordable from the Scoop line. It occurred to me: what a great opportunity to show you how to build affordable luxury outfits.
If you haven’t heard Scoop is run by luxury designer Brandon Maxwell. This brand always has one or two things I can't resist and end up putting in my shopping cart. A few of my favorites (and yours) have been a leopard coat and faux leather moto jacket. This past summer I picked up a few items featured here and here and this month I went on a little shopping spree (stay tuned for more goodies!).
If you are like me when it’s time to experiment with trends I don’t want to break the bank. I’m more than willing to spend big bucks on wardrobe staples that stand the test of time. But we all know trends come and go so I’m more conservative with my bank account. Although I do love to add trends to my closet to stay modern, fresh, and relevant. Thanks to the Scoop line I’m able to do just that.
Today, I'm showing you how to build affordable luxury outfits
Everything I'm modeling is from Scoop at Walmart and shoppable via text- and image-widgets
At the end of the post, I've rounded up some of my favorite picks from Scoop, including holiday inspiration
When adding trends to an outfit keep the overall look rooted in classic style. Today’s OOTD is a prime example. A simple navy blue turtleneck and navy blue pants are wardrobe staples that stand the test of time. But add a fun and funky faux fur coat and you’ve instantly updated the look! I’m a big fan of navy and green so I just couldn’t resist.
Brandon Maxwell also heads up the Free Assembly line at Walmart. It was time for me to dip my toe into that brand too so I scooped up this adorable quilted jacket with stripe pockets for a song. Gotta say I’m impressed! I also picked up this pair of cuffed straight-leg denim which I will feature in the next few weeks and I think I like them. I really like them.

A big thank you to Walmart for this sponsored post. And thank you lovely readers for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.

I am also a fan of Navy and Green. this look is absolutely gorgeous! Stunning! Love the Quilted Jacket too! Great looks!
One of my all-time favorite color combos!
That green coat is great! I can only imagine what the one you saw in Paris was like! Did you buy it?
I wish I needed a coat; already have way too many, otherwise, I would buy that green one in a heartbeat!
The one I spotted in Paris is the last photo of this post. It’s a gorgeous shade of green!
Thanks Beth. Would never had thought to check out Walmart. Looked at the Scoop line. Great resource. Even saw a pair of shoes from a name brand I followed at a much more affordable price. Too bad not my size. After editing my closet a while back, feeling some nostalgia for things I gave away. (Sigh) Buy classic with an edge and keep them. Just update to stay fresh.
I think you will be pleased with this brand. One of my favorites!
Wonderful post! A green coat isn’t my style but, I have to admit it does look so very chic in the photo! I wonder if you could share in future posts what kind of footwear dominated the street wear of Paris? I would love to know what you observed!
