Hello welcome! As cooler temps prevail, one of my favorite layering pieces is the tissue turtleneck from J.Crew. A fantastic t-shirt-like basic for the cooler months, I have about 5 of these turtlenecks in different colors and patterns. I reach for them all fall and winter. They’re perfect for layering under sweaters, vests, cardigans and even under casual dresses.  Today, I’m showing you how to style a casual weekend look.

How to Style a Casual Weekend Look

1. High Rise Vintage Jeans

Today I am covering up with a bomber-style cardigan sweater in a graphic leopard print. This is old, from J.Crew but I have rounded up some similar styles and prints.

My go-to jeans are the High Rise Vintage Slim Jeans from Gap. These jeans are in petite sizing and they are true to size. I have had these affordable Gap jeans for well over a year and even with regular wearing and washing, they are holding up really well.

2. Corinne Lugsole Loafers

I have been waiting since last spring to break out my Corinne Lugsole Loafers. I wore them a few times before summer and they are so comfortable. I love the look of these loafers. I had the original version of the Corine Loafer (sans lugsole) and when these came out last spring I was due for a new pair.

3. Oversized Black Denim Jacket

For my outer layer, I have a denim jacket in a washed black color. This one is from a couple years ago when boxy jackets were trending, so it’s a little oversized, with a cropped bottom. It’s perfect for layering over a thicker sweater.

This year, Madewell does have an oversized black denim jacket (since oversized is the trend this year). Another way to go is just to size up from your regular size on a classic black denim jacket.

Then I have my Sydney Crossbody Bag for my daily essentials, pulling together my casual weekend look.
