Happy Monday, ladies! As always, I hope you had a wonderful and restful weekend. We've got something a bit different, but not surprising if you've been following the blog for the past few weeks. This week, I'm excited to share a couple of photosets I took with Kelly during our trip to Tybee Island. Today, we're showing you how we're wearing the zebra trend.
If you have been following my Sunday pre-fall collection reviews, you'll know that zebra print is "in" in a big way this year. From Talbots to Ann Taylor and beyond, everyone is putting their own spin on the trend. So today, we're gonna show you our take on the trend.
Today, Kelly and I are showing you how we're wearing the zebra trend this year
We've put together two similar outfits from Ann Taylor
The outfits are both shoppable via a text or image widgets
Although our outfits are very similar, they're still different in a few respects. Focusing on mine, I went with a pair of boardwalk shorts from Ann Taylor. They sit right above the knee and are some of my favorite shorts year in and year out. Ann Taylor does it right.
I've paired the shorts with a zebra print sweater shell, also from Ann Taylor. I'm big on sweater shells, because they're a great Summer-to-Fall transition piece. As temperatures start to drop, you can swap your shorts for a pair of pants or jeans. And they layer perfectly with a lightweight jacket. Think denim, utility, or chore.
Instead of a shell, Kelly went with a traditionally colored tank. Depending on where exactly you live and how quickly temperatures cool, you can still get a lot of wear out of a tank well into September.
Just like a shell, this tank will pair with pants, jeans, or a skirt And remember, animal print works as a neutral. That means you can wear a print like this with other neutrals---white, black, navy, or camel---or you can tastefully introduce color pops as you see fit.
Every Sunday this month, I've been reviewing a pre-fall collection from one of my favorite retailers. Yesterday, I took a look at Banana Republic Factory & LOFT. Click the title or image below to read the article.
