Fall is here to stay so it’s time to roll out the comfy cozy layers. With Thanksgiving on the horizon let’s see how to put together a Monochrome Thanksgiving Outfit that’s perfect for an everyday look. Today, I’m partnering with fashion retailer Nordstrom to style an outfit from their oh so affordable Nordstrom Made brands.
Style tip. Mix textures.
To add visual interest to a monochromatic outfit add texture. A simple style recipe that’s perfect all fall and winter is a sweater and jeans. This outfit always works! But add a menswear-inspired herringbone coat from Treasure and Bond into the mix and the outfit goes from simple to chic because of the added interest with texture.
To finish off the look — a black pair of lug sole Chelsa boots (limited sizes similar here and here) from Caslon blend right in… all for the perfect monochrome Thanksgiving outfit that’s classic yet fashion-forward!

Next up is the same monochrome Thanksgiving outfit. It’s the same style formula – sweater and blue jeans – but the boots and jacket have been exchanged. Again, texture has been added this time with a quilted faux leather jacket from Halogen. These black booties have been on style repeat all season long because of the added texture from the patent leather heel and zipper.

Absolutely love this coat!!!!! I clicked on the link and see that it’s available at my local Nordstrom store…..may need to make a trip to Perimeter Mall!
I’m not so sure about the lug-sole boots. I’m seeing them everywhere; but on my size 11 feet, I’m afraid the look is more Halloween monster than chic suburban matron.
Great post…love the clothes you’re wearing today.
Beth, the jeans look great, how did you find the fit? On the Nordstrom site model they look like a really skinny fit jean, with a pretty tight fit taper at the ankle. But they look much less tight and really nice on you., especially love with the Chelsea boots .
Love this look! I commented yesterday, that as cook, I would have to stay away from the white outfit. This one is perfect. I like the lug soled boots for those of us who will be on our feet all day!
