Hello! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the general public tomorrow, July 15. Last week, Beth and I went down to Atlanta to shop the early access (check out our dressing room diaries). It was our third year in a row shopping the sale together and we had such a great time. It’s the special thing that she and I get to do together each year – a wonderful tradition for us. Today I am sharing a dress I scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—a date night dress.
The Summary

My Date Night Dress
1. Scoop Neck Tank Dress
(Vince)
Today I am sharing a dress I scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I skipped right over this dress when I was perusing the preview online, so I was surprised when I found it in-store. I scooped it off the rack in an extra small (regular) size, hoping it would fit, but thinking it likely would not. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when it fit!

Of course it’s falling a little longer on my short frame, but the arm holes are right; the straps don’t slip off. The waist is elastic and the gauzy pleated fabric makes it easy for the waist to hit just right, with a slight blouson effect.
This dress is by Vince. Beth introduced me to Vince during our first Nordstrom Sale trip together and while the price point of their clothes is higher than average, the clothes are worth every penny. Very well made; with quality fabric and craftsmanship. The cashmere sweater and cardigan I bought on that first trip still look and wear just as beautifully as they did three years ago.
I think this dress will get a lot of wear; it’s easy to dress up, like I am doing for our date night. It’s also easy to dress down with flats, sandals or even slip on sneakers and a denim jacket.

2. Linen Blazer
It’s date night for me and Alex and we are headed to my favorite restaurant in Athens, Five & Ten. Located in the hip neighborhood called Five Points, Five & Ten is right on the edge of the frat and sorority houses that line Milledge Avenue, near The University of Georgia.

The restaurant is in a beautiful historical house, renovated as a restaurant, but still maintaining the charm and cozy atmosphere of an old Folk Victorian home.
With interesting craft cocktails and a seasonal menu, we are always in for a treat when we dine at Five & Ten.
For our date night I have dressed up this Vince Scoop Neck Tank Dress by going with a classic black and white ensemble, adding my J.Crew White Linen Blazer. This blazer is sold out now, but here is a very similar petite version from Banana Republic.

3. Saprenda Sandal
(Vince Camuto)
A simple black strappy sandal always works for an outfit like this. These sandals are several years old, they’re by Vince Camuto and thankfully, they put out a similar version every year. Try the Saprenda Sandal.

The Saprenda sandal comes in a variety of easy-to-wear colors including neutrals and metallics, which is great because these sandals are super easy to walk in and wear, and they are affordable – so much so that buying a couple pairs in neutral colors will make dressing up any outfit a no-brainer.
For a little fun pop of color, I am diverting from black and white for this dusty rose-colored clutch – a new addition from Madewell. I have the Sydney Shoulder Bag, and this is in that same collection, it’s the Sydney Clutch.
Cheers everyone! Have a wonderful day and don’t forget, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens up for everyone tomorrow, Friday, July 15! Take care and be well, xo Kelly

A classic style. You look very pretty Kelly.
Thank you very much, Lisa! ๐ xo Kelly
You look great, Kelly. I like that you showed what the dress looks like without the blazer (at the end). Also, nice pop of pink. Five & Ten looks like a delicious place to dine. We’ll have to keep that in mind (we have been through Athens, from North Carolina, on our way to visit our son at UAB med school). Thanks for sharing!
Hello Carolina Girl, definitely put Five & Ten on your list, even if all you have time for is a cocktail at the bar. The bartender, is a really nice guy and enjoys conversation with patrons. Thank you so much for stopping by today! xo Kelly
Love the outfit as much as I LOVE Five & Ten. Son spent 4 years in Athens where we came to love the school, the Dawgs, the town and the creativity in the restaurant community. 2-3 a years we come up to Athens for extended date night, just to revisit our favorite restaurants. Thanks for sharing great outfits, great recipes and great Athens restaurants!
Hi Chris! That’s so cool that you are a fan of Five & Ten too! And how wonderful that you continue a tradition of coming to Athens to revisit your favorite places! Thanks so much for stopping by! xo Kelly
