Happy Friday, gang. And not just any Friday. It’s the first Friday of fall. Can you believe fall has officially arrived?! You know what that means. Temps are cooling, and the holidays are fast approaching. 2022 is picking up steam and barreling down the tracks. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and before you know it, we will be ringing in a New Year. But I absolutely love this time of year.ย I can start wearing my favorite Fall layering piece.
It’s also a time when pumpkins deck my front porch, and I head to the nursery for my annual supply of mums. The seasons are a changing and my home decor with it. Stay tuned to future posts where I share a glimpse of my home inside and outside.
The Summary
ย Today I’m showcasing my favorite Fall layering piece this year—a sweater blazer
ย The sweater blazer is modeled, and I pulled together 2 alternates
ย Everything is shoppable via text- and image-based widgets
ย I’m also sharing a recipe for a Gin & Tonic and Instant Pot Chicken
My Favorite Fall Layering Piece This Year
1. Leopard Sweater Shell
(J.Crew)

2. Gin & Tonic
I love a Gin & Tonic, especially with a cucumber!ย No recipe card today:ย the drink could not be simpler.ย 1 part gin to 2 parts tonic.ย So for me, 2 ounces of gin to 4 ounces of tonic served with a cucumber slice.

3. Instant Pot Chicken in Creamy Tomato Sauce
One thing I love about fall is that I haul my Instant Pot and Slow Cooker out from storage and dust them off. Last week I shared a yummy gameday Slow Cooker Whiskey Meatball recipe. This week it’s an Instant Pot Chicken in Creamy Tomato Sauce that you can whip up in minutes. That’s the beauty of owning an Instant Pot – meals can be made in minutes. And a classic cocktail is on hand today – Gin & Tonic. Oscar is here for his weekly gig, so let’s get the weekend started!

HELLO Beth and Oscar! I like your pumpkins on your porch. You look great in the sweater coat. Have a great day. The chicken looks really delicious. Hi to Ollie too. Hi to Miss Kelly too.
The chicken might not look so appetizing, but boy is it delicious! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.
Very cute outfits. Yes, I can hardly believe it is Fall all ready. The only thing I do not like about Fall is that Winter is just around the corner.
Hi Oscar, hi Ollie.
MN is famous for its very long winters, so I hear you!
Happy weekend!
I really liked the sweater blazer but I am 5’2″ and alterations would costly. I have always like sweater blazers and I have a few. I like the fact that they are a softer look
Yes, I agree with Carolina Girl. Head to Talbots Petites section, or J.Crew offers different lengths with their sweater blazers, so I would go with their shortest version. Here’s a link that shares all the different lengths. https://rstyle.me/+32jB7QKFU69YA7cS9-DYRA
Hi to wonderful Oscar!
Hello, Beth, I love the sweater blazer. To Mary, I am just over 5’2″ but have one from Talbots petite line. It’s cream/camel and I always get compliments when I wear it. Usually, column dress, which is one of your tips for elongating, Beth. Thank you for the recipes today too! I always enjoy those.
Hi Carolina Girl!
You will love the chicken recipe. So easy to make and soooo good.
Enjoy your weekend!
Great idea about the coatagan! I am on my laptop, so I am finally responding..usually catch you on my phone, lately.
I always look forward to your posts. They are an upbeat and fun way to pass some time and learn a little, too.
Hi Beth,
Iam going to try the recipe, I like chicken, and this is a different way of cooking it
Love the cardigan
Thank You
