Happy Friday, gang! I’m writing you from Tybee Island. Kelly says hello, too! We cruised through another week. Let’s get the weekend started with my go-to shorts for Summer.
And boy do I have an easy recipe for you today?! Strawberry cream cheese toast that’s an easy breakfast option when guests are in town and a nice change of pace from the ever-popular Avocado toast. Add a strawberry lemonade champagne cocktail and you have cause for a celebration. Okay, maybe just a delicious breakfastโฆ
Oscar joins us today so it’s time to kick off Fridays with Oscar.

My Go-To Shorts for Summer
1. Dolman Tunic
(Banana Republic)
Today’s outfit is just as easy to put together as the menu. A striped cotton poplin shirt that comes in Regular, Tall, and Petite from Banana Republic and boardwalk shorts that comes in Regular, Curvy, and Petite from Ann Taylor. Add a pair of my favorite sandals available at Tuckernuck and this outfit is complete. Didn’t I say it was easy to put together? Honestly, my summer uniform consists of poplin shirts and shorts. It’s a style uniform that keeps me comfy enough to lounge around the house yet polished enough to run errands.

2. View of my Porch
Entertaining doesn’t need to be complicated. It just involves good company, good food, and a little ambiance. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I love to open my porch for guests. There’s something special about a screened porch. It’s a relaxing spot perfect for an impromptu brunch or dinner. And there’s plenty of flora and fauna to watch while enjoying your meal. The birds are chirping while the sun is setting. It’s the simple things in life that matter the most.

Style Tips
In Case You Missed It
Kelly and I are in Tybee Island for the next few days. Yesterday, I shared 5 travel mistakes you may be making and how to avoid them. Click the title or image below to read the article.
Love all the photos of your porch. Would like to know where you obtained the candle chandelier. For years I’ve looked without success for a similar chandelier. You not only have a flair for decorating but fine taste in champagne, but I prefer the Veuve Demi-Sec over Brut. Cheers
the candle chandelier was purchased at Pottery Barn a few years ago. who know? they may bring it back at some point.
Yummy strawberry cream toast. You look wonderful today. I like your table setting too. Hi to Oscar and Ollie.
happy friday, rory! the toast is so yummy and so easy to make.
Hi Beth,
I wish my skin was as beautiful as yours. I envy you and others who can wear sleaveless blouses and dresses that hit my knees. A complete knee replacement left a prominent scar on my left knee and unsightly veins plague my other knee.
Mary
style is always about your comfort level. the good news is there are so many cute outfits you CAN wear. have a lovely weekend!
I really enjoyed this post ! I can’t wait to try the strawberry toast. What really caught my attention was that you were on Tybee . My “kids” each submitted an idea of how I could celebrate my Halloween birthday -it’ll be 8 decades on this wonderful planet ! One of the three said Tybee Island,as she knows I’m a Mary Kay Andrews fan. We’re looking into rentals around that time. Maybe it will work out.
Enjoy your birthday this fall! I hope Tybee will work out for you.
