These 5 Colors Are In For Spring 2022

Hey, gang!  Today we’re continuing with our Spring Preview series with a focus on Spring colors 2022.  Simply stated, Spring colors this year are bright and arguably bolder than recent years.  “Very Peri”—the new shade of periwinkle—took Pantone’s 2022 color of the year.  But bright yellows, orangey-reds, and blues are on-trend.  Stylecaster has colors like

  • tangy lime;
  • hot orange;
  • cerulean; and
  • radiant yellow

as in-for-Spring.  If you poke around other fashion magazines and websites you’ll see similar palettes.

Spring colors 2022

Today’s post is super simple:  I’ve rounded up 5 bright colors I’m loving this year and dug into the archives to show you different ways to style each color.  Those (general) colors are:

  • purple;
  • yellow;
  • pink;
  • orangey-red; and
  • blue.

Anyone who follows me regularly knows I love neutrals.  But I have and will continue to embrace color any chance I get.  No doubt “bright and bold” can sometimes be difficult to incorporate into our wardrobe.  But remember, there are a lot of ways to introduce color pops into your classic wardrobe.  If you’re not a fan of colorful tops or bottoms, try a handbag or scarf.  If you’re on the fence about “yellow”, try pairing yellow shoes with a pair of black or white pants.

Have fun this Spring looking for new and interesting ways to introduce color into your closet.  And as silly as it sounds, remember: a little color goes a lot further than we might think in a world that often seems dark.

    This post is so fun to see, as I still see some snow outside my window. Hopefully it will be gone by the end of the week. I can’t wait to start wearing a few bright colors. I love to see clothing in bright yellow, but when I have it near my face, my skin looks very sallow/ almost jaundice. Your post has given me some good ideas of how to incorporate yellow in other garments and accessories. My absolute best color to wear is bright, hot pink. I just love how I feel when I wear it.

  2. Some of the new colors are so bright and happy. I am not an orange or yellow person but will use yellow etc for shoes or purses. They look so nice on you. Love the soft blues and pinks. Cute outfits and ideas. Have a great day.

    So many great styling ideas for spring! Thank you, Beth!

  4. Love these posts. They remind me of the early days on your site, but time marches on and one must evolve with the times.

    These posts remind me of the โ€˜slow fashionโ€™ way of using what you have to work the new trends and still be relevant. Excellent๐Ÿ‘

    The pink raincoat pic and the last one with you sitting and those gorgeous blue pants – those colours are magic on you.๐Ÿฅ‚

    I love that we are seeing the lilac & lavender side of purple as this color looks much better on me. Almost any shade of blue or pink works for me. Yellow is a bit tricky, but I have found ways to wear it. Orangey red is definitely for me, but I like on others. I’m sooo ready for lighter & brighter colors!

    Looking for advice with the Spring colors. Can the color stand alone, i.e. black and white outfit with colorful purse? Or is it better to have it tie back to another element in the outfit? Any ideas much appreciated!

    1. little pops of color with your accessories are an easy way to incorporate the trends. a colorful handbag, shoes, or scarf are always good choices.

  7. On YOU everything looks great but fir meโ€”I prefer the oranges/corals and blues if all shades along with teal/jasper green. I like theyellow shorts and jeans but not near my face.
    Love todays post!

  8. Lyn

    I’ll take one of each please!

    Thanks, Beth, you’re so right about dark times. Thanks for ideas to work with! I’m thinking of buying two J. Crew short cardigans — and donating the same amount to Ukraine relief.
