Fall is in full swing here in Georgia, with temps hovering in the 30s for a low and mid-50s for a high. Granted, temps will flirt with the 70s from now until January, when things take a turn for the worse, but I have to say I like a layer or two when it comes to putting together an outfit. So today, I'm showing you one of my favorite coats brands of all time---the coat brand made popular by Queen Elizabeth.
Today I'm featuring a quilted jacket from the coat brand made popular by Queen Elizabeth---Barbour.
The coat is modeled, and a I pulled together 2 alternates

Classic style never goes out of style, so if you’re looking for a classic coat that will stand the test of time, look no further than the iconic brand Barbour. I’m a big fan of their iconic waxed coat with corduroy collar made popular by Queen Elizabeth. But I also love this quilted jacket that's sporty, chic, and oh-so-classic. It looks fantastic popped over a pair of pants from Spanx and a simple black cardigan.
Each and every item can be found at my favorite retailer Nordstrom which carries luxury brands to their own Nordstrom Made Brands, and everything in between.
What’s on trend for fall/winter 2022? Faux fur accessories! How cute is this faux fur bucket hat that’s certain to make a statement and keep my head warm? Who says style can’t be practical?! And I couldn’t resist adding a pop of color with this hot pink cashmere scarf that will be on style repeat as long as the temps are chilly.
A few of my favorite things about Nordstrom.
A big thank you to Nordstrom for this sponsored post. and thank you, lovely readers, for supporting the brands that allow me to bring you fresh ideas.

Beth, I enjoy all your posts and your classic style, and have gotten loads of inspiration from them. Regarding today’s photos, the jacket and bare ankles made me wonder about how cold your ankles could be if you needed a jacket, particularly as I had just put on ankle socks after working at my desk for a while dealing with cold ankles – it’s getting to be that time of year. The bare ankles and loafers are lovely but what does one do when it’s too cold for that? Are low boots the only solution, and then do the socks extend above the boot or is there a gap that could be cold? Is it possible to be stylish with socks and shoes, and how could one wear those? Would love to see a post with some ideas about this. Thanks for all your inspiration.
Christine, This is a most excellent question! I was wondering the same thing. I get cold ankles!
Beth, I am always inspired by your posts. Help us cold ankled girls out! Please!
I have loads of inspiration in the archives. I wear boots and booties regularly. Just go to the top tab of the blog and select Fall or Winter.
I have loads of fashion inspiration in the archives as I wear booties and boots regularly throughout the fall and winter. But I will keep your suggestion in mind for future posts.
Hi Beth, love the look ! Please tell me what size jacket did you buy a 10 or an 8 ? I usually wear an 8 in tops and so wondered if l should go up a size for the third level. You are going to look stunning in Paris in that hat, wow!!
Thanks Beth
Hi Francesca! I chose a size eight and can easily fit a sweater underneath. But I would size up one size if you really want to layer or wear chunky (and I mean chunky) sweaters underneath.
Hope this helps!
Love my burgundy Barbour quilted coat! But after 15+ years, it has done its duty. You look awesome in yours and your outfit. And OSCAR! Our favorite boy. You have me thinking about my Barbour replacement …
That was a nice long run! Don’t you love timeless style?!
Great coat and you look so cute in that hat! I love it!
This hat is so adorable! Usually, my bucket hats are reserved for summers on the beach. Now it’s winter in the city too!
Hi Beth, No offense to the Queen, may she rest in perfect peace, but I always thought her style was nothing short of dowdy. Her styles ranged from outrageously garish to old beyond her years. I never heard or read her referred to as a fashion maven. I can’t see that coat in any other light.
Whatever your thoughts about the Queen’s fashion taste (bright colors, brooches, hats, and handbags), the Barbour jacket rose to fame after she was seen wearing it. It’s an iconic coat that stands the test of time. It’s one of my favorites due to its classic lines.
Hi Beth we moved to Georgia earlier this year and my first purchase was a Barbour jacket. I love what you have done with the bright pink scarf! Really pops as the dark green can be a bit wintery looking. Thanks as always for your style advise.
Just to add when I was a youngster living in London the Barbour jacket was the IT thing to wear and i lusted after them for years. Couldn’t afford it back then but it is still the trendy English jacket to wear (and I am Irish) Kate Middleton sports them all the time 🙂
