Happy Friday, gang! Say goodbye to September and hello to the first week of October. Where did September go anyway? Who knows? But what I do know: with cooler weather here, I've pulled out the comfiest Fall sweater today. And it’s time to put out my fall decorations and spruce up the house.
My mom always changed her home decor each season, and I have dutifully followed suit. It’s time to break out the pumpkins, Indian corn, and maybe a ghost or goblin.
Oscar is ready for his weekly gig. He loves this time of year with cooler temps and is prone to sit on a grassy knoll and survey his kingdom, his very own backyard.
I’m kicking back today after a few weeks of craziness. Last week, I returned from a jam-packed week at the LTK conference held in Dallas. It was so good to catch up with old friends and make new ones! I had a ball all week long, but I am tuckered out. The only thing on my agenda this weekend is to take naps and get organized for October!
Love your haircut! Looks great.
Thank you! It’s a nice change.
Change is good for the soul. I’m loving the new hairstyle that’s perfect for cooler weather.
I love your new hair style! When you started growing out your “signature” pixie”, I was sad, because your pixie was such a cute style and you wore it so well. However, I trusted your great sense of style and knew that you had a well thought out hair style plan. I also admire you for sticking with your plan through the awkward growing out stages. Now, your new style is darling and looks amazing on you!!! ❤️
Thanks so much! I’m always game to try a new hairstyle and I love this one for fall and winter.
I look forward to your posts, but have to say that “that” color looks great on you. You are positively glowing. I too, love turtlenecks, but at this stage in my life my neck is too short for them. Like the idea of oversized tops for jeggings or leggings. Have a great weekend.
Isn’t this sweater a gorgeous color?! So feminine and perfect for fall. Thanks for stopping by!
Oooh La La love the new hair style,
Absolutely love your new “do”! Looks fabulous!!
thanks, Sue! It’s a lovely change and perfect for cooler weather.
The new “do” is lots of fun and so versatile.
Unfortunately I don’t agree with most of the other readers: the new haircut makes you look older and your specific and individual style is no longer recognizable. All the years as your follower I admired your sporty and modern “pixie cut”; the very short hair with the exposed ears sculpted your face beautifully. Currently you look like a presenter or newsreader – old-fashioned and completely interchangeable. It’s such a shame – this cut doesn’t suit you.
Readers don’t have to agree or disagree about my outfit or haircut. The blog is so much more than that. It’s about aging with grace, strength, and beauty, and we share daily tips to do just that. Hair grows, and hairstyles change. It’s how we stay modern, fresh, and relevant. If you have followed the blog for any length of time, then you know my hairstyle changes frequently. I’m always amused that my current hairstyle (whatever the year: asymmetrical, bob, pixie, or in-between) is a source of controversy.
You look great as always Beth! The Rose color looks really good on you! Thanks for all the wonderful posts and have a great weekend!
thanks for stopping by, Sangita! Isn’t this sweater a gorgeous color? It’s so soft and feminine.
I have to agree with Christina’s comments on the new do – followed you for years and love the shorter pixie. The new style seems to accentuate your years on your face. – My opinion. Love the oversized turtleneck sweater and wish I had a long enough neck to wear.
Never understood why a hairstyle would add years to someone’s face. A hairstyle can either be in or out of vogue, but it has nothing to do with looking older or younger. Either you like a haircut or you don’t. Simple as that. I’m always amused that my current hairstyle (whatever the year: asymmetrical, bob, pixie, or in-between) is a source of controversy.
Love your longer hairstyle! It is very soft and pretty. And the rose color is also great-very good on you!
Thank you! I am loving the new “do”!
Beth,
I LOVE the Talbots sweater; both the color and style. That rose color is so … welcoming and joyous. And the sweater pairs so well with the J Crew pants. GREAT pix of you and Oscar (what a guy!). He’s such a good dog! And your hair looks really pretty. Really enjoyed this post.
I’m loving the soft and feminine hue of this sweater. Isn’t Oscar the best?! He’s a handsome boy!
I for one, love this new hairdo on you! It looks fresh and sassy! I don’t understand why people would comment on a blog with negative comments on someone’s physical appearance. An outfit, ok, but I’d draw the line at physical or age criticism. Uncalled for and just really rude and petty.
I’m I’m the process of growing mine out and at the stage where it’s all I can do not to get it cut short again! But , with patience, it’ll get there.
It takes a lot of patience to transition your hair from one style to the next. But in the end it pays off!
