What to Pair a Blazer with During Summer
Happy Monday, ladies! One of the hardest-working items in my wardrobe is the blazer. Oftentimes, we think of the blazer as a seasonal transition piece. We'll wear them in Spring or Fall. Ok, we'll wear them in Winter. But Summer? Sometimes it's hard to even think of layering when temperatures are sitting in the mid-90s. But the truth is, even in the Summer, we spend much if not most of our time indoors, which means layering can be essential. So, today, I'm talking what to pair a blazer with during Summer.
Other than a denim jacket, the blazer is my go-to layer during Summer. And there are so many ways to wear it:
- Pair a blazer with a maxi dress for a sort of boho-chic look.
- Pair it with skinny jeans for more of a prepster look.
- Or pair it with a pencil skirt for a timeless classic look.
Blazers come in so many styles; single or multiple buttons; fitted or relaxed. No matter what your style, there's a blazer for you.

Today, I'm pairing this black parke blazer from J.Crew with white Bermuda shorts from Banana Republic. I've stuck with a neutral palette to highlight the modern silhouette of the shorts. The shorts are super comfy and perfect for the blazin' hot weather we've had in Georgia this Summer.
Style tip: If you want to highlight an interesting silhouette, cut, or style of a particular piece of clothing, stick with a neutral palette.

I'm layering my blazer with this drop shoulder top from Norma Kamali. I love the asymmetrical look of the top, which gives the outfit an even more modern feel when paired with the Bermuda shorts.
I could easily see pairing this top with a pair of dark wash, skinny jeans, heels, and a clutch for an evening out---super versatile, which is what I want in my wardrobe.

Great post with good ideas for putting outfits together using items already in my closet. Love those slingback shoes and ordered them the last time you featured them. Unfortunately, because the strap isn’t adjustable I couldn’t get them to stay on. I ordered 3 sizes and none of them worked. I was very pleased that Nordstrom took them back and have me a prompt refund. There is no store near me but I have had good experiences shopping with them online( all things you have featured)
