Whenever we transition from one season to the next, we count on wardrobe staples. So it’s no surprise that Spring wardrobe staples: denim jacket was a hit with you.
If it’s spring, then it’s time for a third layer. Jackets, cardigans, or blazers are always at my beck and call this time of year. Why? Spring may be beautiful, but she can be fickle. One day the sun is shining with 70-degree temps. The next day can be overcast and downright chilly. One never knows what storm she’s brewing. Take heart! That’s when spring wardrobe staples come into play. Recently I shared my spring jacket all-star list with you. A denim jacket always makes the list, whether it’s on-trend or off. In my opinion, a denim jacket is worth its weight in gold. It’s perfect to wear on the plane when traveling. It looks fantastic with a skirt, dress, shorts or pants. It lasts for years and comes in a variety of styles.
These days we wear white denim all year round. But come summer, there’s something special about a pair of white denim that’s crisp and clean on a hot summer day. And you agree! White denim for summer was a hit.
Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time writing about how to wear white denim. It’s one of my favorite pieces in my closet and one with which I’m not afraid to break all the rules. Yup. There’s always lots of talk about my hair. And many of you have strong opinions about it. But early last spring, I chopped it off. A Summer Pixie Cut resounded with you.
Hello, summer pixie! Many of you know my amazing hairstylist cut my hair into a summer pixie several weeks ago. Thank you for all the positive comments and love! There have been so many requests for photos of the ‘do’ from all angles so that you can share them with your hairstylists. You asked, and I’m delivering! Today’s post is devoted to all things hair.
Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer with trips to the beach or pools on our calendars. Step into summer with swimsuits was a popular blog post since many of us are shopping for swimsuits this time of year.
What’s better on a hot summer day than a dip in the pool? Some of us have an allergic reaction to summer swimsuits, but who wants to miss a day spent by the ocean, lake, or pool? Honestly, you don’t need a beach bod to lounge poolside. All you need is a cute swimsuit! Today, we’re stepping into summer with summer swimsuits.
We tend to pay more attention to our weight twice a year, and January and June are the months we choose to shed unwanted pounds. I’m not a believer in diets, but I am a believer in a healthy lifestyle. How to lose weight after 50 busts the myths that weight gain is normal after menopause.
It’s Monday, ladies, the traditional day of starting afresh. It’s the most popular day to head back to the gym or start a diet. Something about the promise of a new week helps us with the fresh start effect. Many of us are rethinking our health with summer’s arrival, especially after 2020. Many readers have written sharing that Covid-10 or Covid-15 weight gain is real and ask how I can lose weight fast? To which I answer, there are no shortcuts to a healthy lifestyle. It’s one step at a time. But y’all know how much I love FASTer Way to Fat Loss and the mastermind female entrepreneur behind the program Amanda Tress. Please read that post here if you haven’t read my interview with this hardworking mama.
Summer months are jam-packed with activities, including travel. In June, I zipped to Savannah with a dear friend and shared What to pack for a 3-day getaway.
It’s time for a girl’s trip! I share what to pack for a 3-day getaway in today’s post. If you follow along on Instagram Stories, then you know I zipped over to Savannah with a dear friend from my Houston days for a girl’s getaway. Savannah is a visual feast to the eyes due to its historic architecture. It comes in first place for most haunted cities in the USA, with a history that dates back to the pre-Revolutionary War. Luckily most of Savannah’s historic buildings weren’t burned to the ground during the destructive Civil War campaign Sherman’s March to the Sea, which began in Atlanta on November 15th, 1864, and concluded in Savannah on December 21st, 1864. Savannah was spared as the Confederate Army did not want the city leveled as Atlanta had been and abandoned the city, retreating to South Carolina. General Sherman then bequeathed President Lincoln the fallen city of Savannah and 25,000 bales of cotton as a Christmas present in 1864.
And the last readers’ favorite post for June was What to wear shopping. I’ve been on a big Banana Republic kick this year, and these utility pants are one reason. What’s better than cute and comfy?! Nuthin’.
When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping. Am I right?! Seriously, in my mind’s eye, shopping has always been FUN. But when I’m on vacation and a vacay with a bestie who also loves to shop? Well, it’s time to throw on a pair of comfy and cute shoes and hit the streets. Today, I’m sharing What to wear shopping in Savannah.

Happy New Year and thanks for a stylish recap. You are a beautiful beautiful lady and while I criticize the lug boots and some booties that cut your amazing legs off, I just love seeing everything you post and applaud your consistent output! Wishing you and your family a really great 2022!
Hi Beth, my absolute favorite was the shopping on a budget and I bought the jacket for sure. Would have loved to find the purse with the bamboo handle somewhere but could not. Thanks for all the great tips you’ve given over the years. A very Happy safe New Year to you!
