it finally happened. spring showed up. what a glorious day! no rain only sunny skies and temps that hovered right around the seventy-degree mark. it was the first day in such a long time where i enjoyed my walk with oscar. there was no umbrella to ward off those raindrops, no gloves to keep my hands warm, and no coat! but you’ll notice i dressed in layers. light layers, but layers all the same. this is a trick i use when transitioning seasons especially when the mornings are brisk then the day turns balmy. then all i have to do during the day is shed a layer or two, depending on those crazy temps.
look at this spring-like color palette. actually, it looks as if i’m ready to head to palm beach, florida with the bright pops of pinks, greens, and blues. mr. style and i head to that neck of the woods in a few short weeks. so i just might be dreaming about pink flamingos, warm summer breezes, sleeveless dresses, and sandals. can’t wait to share our trip with you! it will be resort wear through and through which many of you have requested i preview. so stay tuned!
but back to today’s ootd, and oscar who is one happy camper that our walk wasn’t a quick trip around the block. yes, he sniffed and snorted and meandered up and down the streets to his heart’s content. life is good! and i’m excited to wear a new pair of denim from everlane, my very first pair from this brand. and i like them. the fit is comparable to j.crew – slim – and the fabric is substantial. this is especially important when it comes to white denim as you never want a ‘see-through’ fabric. actually, these blue jeans are ecru, so they’re off-white not a true white. i added a soft pink sweater from Talbots, and a long blue jean jacket from Anthropologie i picked up last year. similar here and here. to add some spit and polish to the outfit (and warmth) i tied a patterned scarf around my neck. tory burch leather espadrilles finish off this ootd in comfortable style. oscar? are you ready to hit the road?

Hi, Beauties! Happy spring! Thank you for your inspiration! I love the pic with Oscar smelling the flowers and the one with him modeling! He is such a beautiful dog!

Love this color combo! And the scarf is just adorable. And that is so great that you have spring already. I was warmer for a few days and today it’s snowing again in Warsaw:(. Can you imagine? Happy weekend Beth!
it’s always a good day, renata, when pink is involved! but then i know you love bright colors as much as i do. take heart, that snow can’t last for much longer.

Nice pops of spring color! I had a pair of similar espadrilles, but they were so wide on my feet. I like these–so similar to the classic Chanels, for substantially less than those go for. Have a great weekend–we will probably have basketball on all weekend, since my boyfriend is a sports fiend. Enjoy!
it’s basketball season with a golf tournament thrown in for good measure! but there’s something special about march madness. anything can happen.
