Happy Friday, ladies. Another week has come and gone and it’s time for our favorite German Shepherd to say hello. Football season is in full swing. The Georgia Bulldogs faceoff against South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday afternoon so it’s time to start thinking all things tailgating. Stay tuned for upcoming posts! Love this time of the year when football scores are bandied about and the temps begin to cool down. The slow dance from summer to fall has begun and I have to admit I love the sound of a marching band, cooler temps, mums, and pumpkins. I’m in Tybee this week saying goodbye to summer. Upon my return, it’s time to transition the house to celebrate fall. Do you decorate your home seasonally? It’s a tradition of mine passed down from my mother, and I can’t wait to haul out my fall decorations.

Beth’s Outfit: Denim Shift
Today, Kelly whipped up a French Onion Tart that’s sure to whet your appetite and a Monarch cocktail that was new to me, but thoroughly enjoyed. I slipped into a denim dress that’s been featured on the blog many times throughout the years. It’s a timeless dress that can be thrown in a suitcase and taken on vacation or running around town with a long list of errands on your to-do list. Today the denim dress is styled with brown leather sandals (similar here), but in the past I’ve worn sneakers, espadrilles, and even peep to booties.

Kelly’s Outfit: Brilliant Blue Sweater

This bright cobalt blue color, called Brilliant Cove at J.Crew, has been trending all year and I finally went for it with this short sleeve sweater. I am keeping things simple and casual with black-wash jeans. And because I can’t get enough of these perfect, in-between-season shoes, I have on the Winona Cutout Loafers also from J.Crew. I am a big fan of loafers and I look forward to wearing these with cute ankle socks when the temps cool down a bit.

The Monarch
The Monarch is a stirred, not shaken, martini-style gin-based cocktail. It’s refreshing and a little fruity with the flavors of grapefruit liqueur and Lillet Rosé. It’s a beautiful pinky-orange hue that feels just right for fall.
French Onion Tarts
Apparently, this recipe was a sensation on TikTok, but I suppose I missed the boat on that trend because I don’t have TikTok. Either way, this is a really fun and easy method for making individual tarts. Each tart is inverted, made upside down on the baking sheet. And let me say, this is by far the easiest way to make a super puffy, flaky tart!

I like the rich dark denim on Beth and the cobalt on Kelly – but with short sleeves. Such a pretty way to nod to both fall and summer. It was downright chilly here in NJ last night but warmed up to the 70s today. Change is afoot!
