Happy Friday, ladies! Can you believe it’s October?! Where has this year disappeared to? It’s time to pull out the pumpkins, scarecrows and a ghost or goblin or two. When the seasons change I love to seasonally decorate. Whenever I think back on my childhood I’m grateful for a mom that always made the holidays feel special. She had a knack for creating memories where memories might not have been just by decorating for the occasion. She celebrated and commemorated our lives through decor. It’s an act of complete love! And the nut didn’t fall far from the tree. I’m always chomping at the bit to Celebrate the arrival of October by setting the scene. Recently, I shared a post about my fall front porch decor. Now that October has arrived it’s time to switch things up again with the addition of skeletons and spooky decor! Decorating for the holidays changes things and brings a new energy into your home instead of feeling stagnant and ho-hum. Change is good for the soul and helps us be more present mentally. Living life intentionally and creating memories is so important! That’s how we age with grace, strength, and beauty.
Since it’s Friday, y’all know Kelly has stopped by to dish up a delicious recipe. Today, it’s a Havarti Pear and Coppa Sandwich that’s certain to please! And I’m whipping up a Lakeside Rye Cocktail that Kelly and AJ were treated to on their last visit to the Ritz Carlton. It’s yummy!
Oscar is on hand for his weekly gig and I’m certain he had his eye on these sammies. This week we even have a glimpse of Ollie who is never far from the action.

We are making a fantastic new cocktail and a sandwich with the flavors of fall
Today’s ootd is easy breezy and starts with a pair of white denim that I wear all year round. This pair is from Mother the Hustler and I typically size up one size as they have a slim fit, especially when it comes to white denim. Navy and white is always all right and perfect for a cool fall day and I love this classic roll-neck sweater from J.Crew that’s a perennial favorite. Add a pair of white sneakers and this outfit is ready to stroll into the weekend!

I love it when the weather changes and it’s corduroy season! J.Crew has a great selection of colors this season for their Straight Corduroy Pants. A fun mix of colors that includes this chestnut color they are calling Golden Brandy. A very versatile color that will coordinate with a lot of my sweaters and button-ups. And because I love to mix my patterns, I went with the striped Elbow Sleeve Tee and then Rothy’s in Desert Cat.

I am so excited to share this cocktail with y'all! We met the most wonderful bartender at the Ritz who was working on creating a new cocktail for the fall menu, and she tested it out on us, and we loved it! Happy to report that the restaurant management loved it too, so expect to see the Lakeside Rye Cocktail on this on the menu at Gaby's this fall!
We did make a couple of modifications, in that we didn't have the star anise garnish – which really adds something special to the cocktail. so if you make this one, be sure to add the star anise garnish along with the sprinkle of nutmeg.
I love this simple sandwich because it's perfect for fall with the pear slices, which give this sandwich a very satisfying sweet, creamy, savory combination. The dressed arugula salad breaks up the richness and adds a tangy, peppery flavor element.
Oscar, Ollie, Kelly, and I wish you a lovely weekend!
