Happy Friday, gang! I am writing from NYC, and I have to say fall is in the air. The temps have been glorious here, with the sun shining overhead and temps in the 70s. Yep, I wore a sweater and my moto jacket. It was heavenly! And I had a ball on my whirlwind trip to the Big Apple. I saw the musical MJ, which chronicles the life of Michael Jackson (I highly recommend it), attended a YouTube event, had dinner with a new friend from YouTube, Serena Butler from Style by Serena, and now I’m headed back home. One of my kiddos lived in NYC for years, so I always had an excuse to visit, but now I’ve decided this beautiful city needs to be on my list to see at least twice a year, even if I’m flying solo!
Today, we are celebrating cooler temperatures!

We are making an Earl Grey Martini and Finger Sandwiches
But back to Fridays with Oscar, where Kelly and I kick off the weekend with a yummy recipe and delicious cocktail! When we shot this episode, the weather was still hot so I slipped into a sleeveless button-down and cargo pants (old, similar here and here) it’s an easy outfit to pull together with the focus on neutrals. If you want an easy transition from season to season, reach for neutrals and wardrobe staples. They never let you down. Today, my footwear of choice is sneakers that are as cute as they are comfortable.

While the temps are still warm in the afternoons, the mornings and evenings are delightfully cool – fall is definitely in the air! Even the warm afternoons are nothing compared to the heat we had this summer, so I am welcoming the cooler weather and wearing light pants. These fatigue-style pants are a few years old, but there are always similar styles, like the Slim Straight Utility Pant from Madewell, or the Wide Leg Cargo Pant from J.Crew.
A simple Vintage Rib Tank is perfect for a warm afternoon, and I can wear a denim shirt over it when the sun goes down.

This Earl Grey Martini is perfect for an adult afternoon tea! Usually, martinis are savory cocktails, but this tea-infused version is a refreshing herbal change-up. A delightful sipper, this cocktail is a great way to unwind and enjoy a fall Friday afternoon.
What goes with an afternoon tea cocktail? Finger Sandwiches, of course! These finger sandwiches are a flavorful sweet and savory combination of ham, cheese, and apricot jam mixed with whole grain and Dijon mustards. They are the perfect accompaniment to the Earl Grey Martini.
Enjoy the recipes, ladies! Oscar, Ollie, Kelly, and I wish you a lovely weekend!
