happy friday, gang! today’s blog post is from the archives. you see, the djalali’s (including oscar and ollie) have been without air conditioning since yesterday. sometime around ten o’clock in the morning mr. style discovered our thermostat was out of whack. it was around the time the plumber arrived as there’s also a leak in our brand new water heater. and there’s a leak at our curb where our meter connects with the city or the sprinkler system as that sits right next to the city meter. you know that saying “when it rains it pours?” well, it’s true! i got so involved with monkeying with the thermostat for mr. style and turning faucets on for the plumber i plumb forgot about a lunch date with a dear friend…
anyhoo, don’t worry as the city is coming out to check the leak at the curb, thankfully, the water heater doesn’t have a leak – it’s the air conditioner. and the heating and cooling tech will arrive sometime mid-afternoon for a look/see. phew! the good news is we have a finished walkout basement with a separate air conditioning unit so we camped out in our family room and slept in the downstairs guest room ( i think i need to spruce that room up a bit – don’t tell mr. style). but our photo shoot with oscar has been postponed until next week. it’ll be a good one so tune in then.
today i’ve taken the liberty to repost a favorite ‘fridays with oscar’ from our days in San Francisco. yes, this is what you can wear on any given day all summer long in the city by the bay. you know what Mark Twain said, “the coldest winter i ever saw was the summer i spent in San Francisco.” that saying is also true!

oscar and i wish each of you a wonderful weekend. don’t you just love summer?! it’s such a happy time with bright beautiful colors.

I know why I love this outfit so much….because it’s so wonderfully colorful!! And Oscar is such a good boy to sit so well during the shoot! Does he get a treat afterwards? jodie

there’s never a lack of treats for oscar! his favorite it called ‘bully stick’. he devours it in no time at all.
Such a cute summer outfit and your hair looks great here. I love these photos of Oscar too. He’s poses well. 😉
oscar always knows when the camera is pointed his way! i don’t mind if he steals the show. and for some reason there’s never a photo with his eyes closed…i finally made it into the salon for a long overdue haircut. some readers were asking me if i were growing it out, but no. although this time karmen took it really short on one side, longer on the other. i love it!
So sorry to hear about all the a/c and plumbing problems, Beth. You are so sweet to think of your readers while all this is going on. so thank you for giving me a dose of Oscar today! Good luck with getting your beautiful home back to normal.
rebecca, you always bring a smile to my face! thanks so much for stopping by and making my day.

So sorry you are experiencing the “when it rains, it pours” syndrome. It must be hot on GA, I’m in the Northeast and it has been steamy here. Looking forward to your next post. Thank you, Beth. You are a joy.
UGH–hope the water and A/C situations get straightened out quickly–think how appreciative you’ll be when they’re running tip-top again! It’s gotten so hot recently, too, so my heart goes out to you all. Thank goodness for the downstairs bedroom, then, right!? Hang in there–have a great weekend!
a hot summer day is definitely not the time to be without AC! but thank goodness for two separate units. the upstairs might have been beasty hot but the downstairs (where the t.v. is located) was nice and cool. we had a great weekend in spite of the repair issues. i hope you enjoyed your weekend too!
