if it’s friday, then it’s time for a yummy recipe. both kitchen helpers are on hand today. don’t tell oscar and ollie but we all know how ‘helpful’ they truly are. as a matter of fact, we have some fun photos to share that prove just how hard-working they can be. first, let’s set the scene. placemats, napkins, and dishes are in place ready for action. easy enough. inanimate objects never pose a problem. and i do love setting a pretty table. it doesn’t matter if two or ten sit down to dinner.
before we go any further let me give a quick mention to today’s ootd. can you tell i have valentine’s day on my mind? if you can believe it the next holiday is less than three weeks away. mr. style and i already have our dinner reservations booked. but i couldn’t resist getting into the spirit of things with this adorable heart print popover from Talbots. the top is sprinkled with abstract hearts so it can be worn long after valentine’s day has come and gone. thursday’s post featured these girlfriend jeans and they’re back in action today. add a pair of red shoes (similar here and here), and this outfit is history.
here comes oscar ready for his weekly gig. there’s always a quick hello before the photo shoot gets underway.
wait a minute. something grabbed oscar’s attention that he just had to check out. the photos can wait, right? now you understand why we always have cocktails on friday.
of course, ollie arrived late to the set. again, oscar just had to see what was up. can you spell trouble? if ollie is in the mix make that trouble with a capital T.
oscar is always amazed at what ollie gets away with.
okay, we kind of, sort of have one good photo… but i think mr. style is getting hungry or is it hangry? it’s tough work being the photographer for Style at a Certain Age especially on fridays.
here you go mr. style a yummy but healthy version of spaghetti! what cocktail goes best with pasta? can’t think of one. when it comes to spaghetti what’s better than a glass of red wine?
8ounces spaghetti, wheat or gluten-free, broken half
freshly grated Parmesan cheese for serving.
Instructions
Press the saute button on an Instant Pot. When hot, add the ground turkey and salt and brown the meat, using a wooden spoon to break it into small pieces as it cooks about 3 minutes. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the marinara sauce, 2 cups water, and the spaghetti, making sure the liquid covers everything. Do not stir, as space will be tight.
Seal and cook on high pressure for 9 minutes, until the pasta and sauce are cooked. Quick release, then open when the pressure subsides. Serve right away, topped with Parmesan, if desired.

it seems as if mr. style gave up on oscar, ollie and me. who can blame him? an empty room offers solace to a photographer. yes, we are almost finished with our living room. it’s down to the wire for the full reveal in a future post. all that’s left is flooring. and one more painting above the credenza in the background
before we go i wanted to share our february book club pick – Where the Crawdads Singby Delia Owens. if you are interested in joining book club with Style here’s the link.
