TGIF! Yep, Friday has arrived once again, and we're here for Fridays with Oscar! How is everyone faring Mercury retrograde? Some say that Mercury retrograde supposedly wreaks havoc on our lives and impacts our mood, leading to stress or brain fog. In Astrology, Mercury rules communication, thoughts, and connection and encompasses many facets of daily life, such as relationships and technology.
When Mercury appears to be moving backward, everyday life may get a little screwy. So if you’re experiencing low energy levels, blame it on mercury retrograde, or maybe your travel plans went awry, or there’s been miscommunication with friends or family members. That, too, can be blamed on mercury retrograde. Some even go so far as to suggest delaying signing contracts or postponing big purchases. Whatever your stance, the good news is Mercury retrograde wraps up on April 24th and won’t return until August.

Never fear, as Mercury retrograde hasn’t affected Fridays with Oscar. Cocktails are still being served, a yummy recipe comes to life, and Oscar and Ollie seem totally unfazed by anything today, per usual. Unless you count Oscar begging for treats the minute a guest enters the house. But I’m pretty sure that’s Oscar’s power move any time of year since he’s always on the lookout for treats and more treats.

Fridays with Oscar is all about casual outfits, so it's a Linen Top and the High Rise Girlfriend Chinos for me today, as this had to be one of the most comfortable weekend outfits! I am always looking out for a new linen shirt style, and this Bungalow Popover Linen Top from J.Crew is my new favorite because of its longer sleeves and popover style.

A bit of Campari gives this Greyhound its Italian flavor. The bitter aperitif adds a little extra bittersweet flavor to the grapefruit juice and overall makes the classic Greyhound a little smoother – perfect for sliding into the weekend!
Asparagus Parmigiana
On Fridays with Oscar, we focus on simple recipes that make great side dishes, appetizers, or light meals. Today is no different!
To go along with our Italian Cocktail, we have a wonderful vegetarian version of Parmigiana. This version is very simple, as we have asparagus, marinara, cheese, and breadcrumbs baked until the asparagus is tender firm and the cheese is melted and golden.
