this post brought to you by tomorrow sleep
a new year brings new beginnings, right? for me and mr. style that meant a new bed. when we lived overseas, we slept in a king-sized bed. back in the states, it was a queen. there are pros and cons to both. ever since we downsized our home, we’ve flip-flopped between purchasing a king or a queen. you can imagine if we were in a dither choosing the size of a bed we might have a challenge (or two) deciding which attributes our new bed should have. open coil, pocket spring, latex, memory foam. soft, medium, firm to name a few. let me tell you, these features are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to mattresses. since we spend 1/3 of our life in bed it’s important to make an educated decision. am i right? a good night sleep is dependent on it. and nothing beats waking up in the morning feeling rested.
so i have to admit when tomorrow sleep reached out for a collaboration i was relieved to have the opportunity to try out a hybrid mattress risk-free. and intrigued about a bed that arrives at your home in a box. a bed in a box? now that’s revolutionary. and that’s exactly how a king-sized mattress arrived at our home over two months ago. according to my fitbit since switching mattresses, i’m averaging seven hours of sleep as opposed to six with our previous bed. not bad, huh?
what exactly is a tomorrow mattress? well, for starters it’s a hybrid. temperature regulating memory foam on top and a gently stabilizing coil system beneath. to be honest i was a little leery of sleeping on a memory foam bed. who wants to be hot at night when you prefer to be cool? and i’d always heard memory foam sleeps hot. tomorrow sleep has a patented ventilated rail system that’s designed to maintain a well-balanced climate. and that’s one of the first things i noticed with our new bed, we chose medium-firm over medium-soft, it wasn’t too hot, and it wasn’t too cold. it was pretty much perfect. even mr. style agreed.
but i was curious as to what, exactly, were the benefits of pocketed coils? in a nutshell, every coil flexes separately for head to toe support which reduces motion transfer between you and your sleep mate. for me, that meant no more waking up in the middle of the night when mr. style rolled over one too many times. hooray!
i know firsthand that purchasing a bed is a personal journey. it takes a leap of faith to purchase a bed without testing it in the store not once, twice or thrice. and i have to admit i was a bit hesitant about the ‘bed in a box’ thing. but the ordering process was quite easy and delivery was fast – two days. the best part is a tomorrow sleep mattress comes with a ten-year serta simmons warranty and a one hundred night trial risk-free. if you don’t love it they’ll pick up your return free of charge.
it’s been over two months since mr. style and i have been sleeping in our new bed and we both agree it’s our favorite mattress to date. so if by chance you’re on the hunt for a new bed check out tomorrow sleep. it’s deep sleep made easy.

Funny, we just purchased one of those mattresses but by a different manufacturer. I think this is the way of the future. We’re very happy with ours also. Happy New Year.
i was so impressed with the packaging, sandra! it was kind of cool to watch the bed decompress and spring to life. i’m happy to hear you love your mattress too.
happy new year!

Thank you for this timely post, Beth! We’re in the process of buying a new mattress, too, and we’re both overwhelmed by how many choices there are and how many decisions need to be made before we even think about where we buy or what brand we choose. We *think* we’re doing the bed-in-a-box route, but I’m not sure we’re ready to make that leap of faith yet.
Happy New Year to all. And to all, a good night!
buying a new mattress is a daunting task but i’m certain you’ll make the right decision. we couldn’t be happier with our new bed.
good luck!

Thanks for being a guinea pig Beth! I always wondered how a mattress folded in half and shipped could be any good so it is good to hear your experience! I just replaced mine a year ago, so it will be awhile before my brain has to access this information. By the way, individual pocketed coils all the way! How did we tolerate it otherwise?!! happy new year
they say we should replace our bed every ten years so you have nine more to go! aren’t the pocketed coils the best? you’re right, how did we survive without them?!
happy new year!

We need a new mattress so badly, but the choices are daunting. Thanks for this post – and your new haircut is darling!
there are so many choices when it comes to mattresses! but you’ll make the right decision.
