good morning, ladies! today, i’m sharing weight loss tips by healthy eating. i know, i know, our generation was taught that in order to lose weight we had to cut calories and exercise more. or choose low-fat options like using margarine over butter, or substituting low-fat sour cream over the real deal. or how about all of those weight loss gimmicks that promise the moon and back. honestly, i cringe at all of the weight loss tips doled out for well over fifty years that just didn’t work. one of the biggest fallacies is that weight gain is just a normal part of aging, which is just plain wrong. if we want to age with strength and grace, we need to face our diet straight on – what we eat on a day-to-day basis. if we want to look and feel healthy and youthful, it’s all about healthy eating. if we get healthy, then we’ll lose weight. not the other way around.

the program that helped redirect all of my unhealthy food habits, and thinking was FASTer Way to Fat Loss. i started my fitness journey over a year and a half ago when i joined FASTer Way to Fat Loss. at the time i was 59 and had decided by the time i turned 60 i would be the healthiest i had ever been. thanks to FASTer Way to Fat Loss i can truly state that i’ve never felt better. FASTer Way to Fat Loss teaches how to burn fat, balance your macro’s, and share a multitude of weight loss tips by healthy eating.
many of the recipes i share week after week on Fridays with Oscar are geared towards healthy eating. one of my favorites is chicken and kale one pan sheet chicken or greek meatballs and tzatziki or ahi tuna poke jicama tacos. lots of choices when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. and it’s so easy to choose healthy recipes these days because i know how to balance my macro’s thanks to FASTer Way to Fat Loss.
one of my favorite grocery stores, where i stock up on essentials is Trader Joe’s. so today i thought i’d share my top ten favorites.
cauliflower gnocchi – 75% cauliflower, as well as cassava flour, potato starch, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt. no wheat, sugar, dairy, or eggs, which translates to fewer carbs.
steamed lentils – insoluble fiber helps our digestive system.
riced cauliflower stir fry – eat it as a main by adding chicken strips.
green goddess salad dressing – 20 calories and 2 grams of fat per serving.
everything but the bagel seasoning – this seasoning tastes good with everything. hence the title.
organic ground beef – beef raised without added anti-biotics
organic free-range chicken – chicken raised without added anti-biotics
just a handful of raw almonds – perfect snack
meditteranean hummus – a healthy dip that’s fantastic with fresh broccoli and cauliflower
broccoli and kale salad – eat it as is or add your favorite protein
there is no question that there are escalating rates of obesity, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and cardiovascular disease. many of which are preventable with healthy eating. the choices we make with nutrition profoundly impact our health. calories in calories out are just not effective. it’s our lifestyle choices that impact healthy aging and weight gain. i do not support the limiting belief that we have to accept weight gain is a normal function of aging. yes, the statistics are startling. 2/3 of women 40 – 59 are overweight. and more than 1/2 are obese. while there is no quick fix when it comes to losing weight, there are strategies we can adopt. the inherent power of food and nutrition can be our greatest asset to our health and wellness journey. i’ve learned so much about nutrition (and continue to learn) with the help of FASTer Way to Fat Loss which is why i’m committed to sharing this program with you.
what benefits have i seen over the course of a year and a half? besides how to lose belly fat over 50? i sleep better at night, have increased energy levels, and food has become my friend, not the enemy. i’ve lost inches, gained muscle, and feel confident that i can age with strength and grace.

I think torn jeans are ok for the much younger set. Definitely not for mature women or men.
style doesn’t have an expiration dae. that goes for distressed jeans. but if it’s not your cup of tea there are so many options these days when it comes to denim.
