anyone else dreads laundry day? it’s the one chore many of us put off until we have ‘nothing to wear’ sound familiar? that’s why i love to create a cheerful laundry room. space where it’s fun to hang out. oscar and ollie love spending time in our laundry room. after all, this is where their food and gear are stored. let’s not forget their treat jar. today, i thought i’d share a few laundry room ideas that help take the drudge out of laundry.
laundry baskets and hampers are a must to store and schlep loads of laundry back and forth. and i love a bold wall. in previous laundry rooms, i’ve slapped up dramatic wallpaper or added a bright color. this time i went with Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black. don’t the walls look fabulous against fire engine red washer and dryer?
laundry rooms are hard-working spaces, so i try to have a place for everything and everything in its place. this cute console table adds extra storage space. wire baskets (similar here) store cleaning supplies. laundry detergent is housed in a glass canister. the farmhouse pig lamp is no longer available from Pier One. Hayneedle has a similar lamp. the laundry letters are from Ballards. they add a little whimsy to the room.
this comfort mat reduces stress from standing. aren’t the laundry symbols a cute addition?
every laundry room needs wall art. the safety pins are from Ballards as is the beadboard drying rack. any chance i get i sneak a clock in. does anybody really know what time it is? in my case, yes!
the light fixture was exchanged for an aged bronze flush mount.
we removed the cabinet doors above the washer and dryer. i still haven’t decided what paint color to choose.
this is ollie’s drinking fountain, and comfort stand pet dishes. oscar’s are located on the opposite wall. cat and dog food is stored in canisters.
here’s a YouTube video where i share a few laundry hacks.
are we ready to get the weekend started? hopefully, you have something more interesting than laundry on your to-do list. mr. style and i saw Ocean’s 8 last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! great cast and a whole lot of fun. on that happy note, oscar, ollie and i wish each of you a lovely weekend. xo

I love those pet drinking fountains, snd bought one on the vet’s recommendation for my little dog. Yoo bad she’s a scaredy cat and won’t use it.She likes to watch it, though. 🤔
You pay such attention to details, Beth and your laundry room is awesome.. I just think you do everything with great style and pizazz!
thank you, my friend! i’m certain you’ve heard me say i love home design. there’s nothing more important than creating a welcoming hub for family and friends. even pets! have a great weekend, rebecca!

I love the post on what you’ve done with the laundry room!! Question for you… how do you keep your large dog from dripping water all over your floor when he drinks? We have an 85 pound dog and she really makes a mess with her water and have wondered what might make an improvement? Any ideas?
i wish i had the magic fountain that would prevent those drips! oscar certainly leaves a trail every time he takes a drink. then i just schlep behind him with a towel…
pets and kids sure do know how to leave a mess. but they are worth every minute of kp duty.
