hey gang, it’s monday morning. and you know what that means… ready or not here comes a new week. mr. style and i spent the weekend in the big peach having all sorts of fun. then picked up one of our kiddos from the airport and headed home. but i’m happy to report i buzzed around the streets of atlanta wearing a light jacket or sweater. this girl loves sweater weather even if the sweaters change from wool to cotton. or as in today’s ootd lightweight italian cashmere.
a pair of white denim was the perfect choice for a cool weekend vibe. today i paired them with a botanical tulip camp shirt from ann taylor. the pantone color of the year, purple, is in play with this vibrant tunic. and i couldn’t resist adding a pink v-neck sweater last season J.Crew for an infusion of springtime color. anyone else likes to go up a size or two with a sweater? that’s a style tip i utilize now and then for a relaxed look. i also love to casually tie sweaters around my shoulders. this is an easy way to add color and an extra layer at the same time. later that evening the winds picked up while dining al fresco. guess who popped on her v-neck to stay warm? don’t forget the key to transitional spring outfits is layers.
brown suede pumps from ann taylor (take a peek at the gold metallic heel) brown belt similar here and brown and cream handbag similar here from ralph lauren tone down the vibrant shades of pink and purple. adding neutrals into the mix keep this ootd grounded and sophisticated.

Ok, getting excited to wear my new white jeans! Totally out of my comfort zone but taking that leap, Beth!
good luck with the white denim, sophia! you can do this. and you’ll love wearing them year round.

This is such a pretty color combination for you–and I know you love pink! The white and the brown tones are wonderful with this look. I’ve been looking at the jeans from Everlane and wondered how they’d fit–they look great on you. I always try to read reviews to see if someone mentions their height/weight and/or measurements to help figure out what will fit, when I’m not familiar with a brand’s sizing. So far, I really like the things I’ve purchased from Everlane. Happy Monday!
the everlane jeans are a slim fit. j.crew toothpick denim is a similar fit. the material is substantial and while the fabric has some give it doesn’t stretch out like so many jeans seem to do these days.

Looking fabulous as always! Love the pink and purple combination on you, Beth. I bought a pink sweater over the weekend because I loved the back detail and fun spring color; however, I rarely wear that color since I have a lot of yellow in my skin tone. Not too long ago, you said to not suffer from “color analysis paralysis” which I’m trying to remember as I shop. Do you have any fashion tricks for making a color that isn’t great for your skin tone look a little bit better?
hi kim! thanks for stopping by. when going out of your comfort zone with color try adding a scarf around your face in a color you love yet compliments the pink. like a sky blue scarf or a snazzy pop of red. this will help diffuse the pink against your skin tone. does that make sense?
hope this helps!
