it’s all about gingham this spring, ladies! one of my favorite patterns is seen everywhere this season. from shoes to handbags to dresses to pants – there are so many choices this year. and we all know i’m a sucker for pink so when i spied this cute number from J.Crew i knew it had a 99.9% chance of coming home with me. by the way, thanks for all the emails and messages that the J.Crew links were wonky the other day. that was an error on J.Crew’s side. let me tell you there is never a dull moment on the blog! hopefully, there will be no issues today as both the gingham blouse and patchwork chinos are from J.Crew. the metallic sandals are Kate Spade.
patchwork and/or embellished denim is also on-trend this spring. these boyfriend chinos marry the two trends into one happy pant (limited sizes) similar here and here. funny story, i purchased the chinos back in january but didn’t pay attention to the comments on sizing and fit. it was recommended to go up one size… so of course, these babies did not fit one bit. typically when this happens, i send an item back straight away. but i was just about to start FASTer Way to Fat Loss and decided “what the heck. keep ’em.” well as you can see these chinos fit two months later, so i’m happy to report this lifestyle change works! i will take all the small victories life offers.
the pintuck neckline is a nice detail as are the tie sleeves. this was the perfect ootd to bop around town running errands. like dropping my taxes off to the account. what a relief! and, yes, our weather finally delivered a gorgeous day.

Love this shirt, I purchased in the black and white. I want to say thanks for giving me the idea of wearing green khaki with pink, never crossed my mind. You also wore in another blog the other day with a jacket and top and I can not wait to try. I am currently trying to let my natural hair color grow (grey) and I am getting a lot of ideas from you on what colors work and how I can incorporate some of my old pieces (neutral) with color to transition. BTW, love the shoes too!
Happy Easter weekend 🌸
