Happy Friday, gang! Or should I say Happy Friday Eve? I am writing this Thursday night as Hurricane Helene made landfall and is headed through Georgia, so I dare say I don’t know what I will wake up to Friday morning. Internet? Power? Flooding? It’s anyone’s guess, so I thought I’d make hay while the sun still shines-or at least while Helene is still hundreds of miles away.
I’m gearing up for my cruise from Rome on October 1st. I will go on September 29th and arrive in Rome on the 30th. I’m staying near the Spanish Steps, so shopping may or may not be on my agenda. Early on October 1st, I tour the Vatican and then head to the port. Can you say EXCITED?! The weather should be glorious, and I look forward to visiting Croatia-lots of fun-filled days ahead. Follow along on Instagram, where I will give a daily update.

A Dark and Stormy Friday with Oscar
Beth’s Casual Friday
Today, it’s all about Fridays with Oscar and a delicious recipe and cocktail on hand. Today, I slipped into a pair of straight-leg blue jeans from J.Crew as the weather was mild. A navy cashmere tank from Quince and a patent leather jacket from Scoop that’s been on style repeat since it came home with me are the perfect choices, as they’re casual yet chic. Y’all know Friday is about laid-back style, and I think this outfit fits the bill.

Kelly’s Casual Friday
Beth and I got together to prepare this post yesterday, while Athens was finally getting some rain, thanks to the outer bands of Hurricane Helene. Friday morning, as I write this, we have very high winds and we got more than 8 inches of rain overnight. Thankfully we have power and all the Djalalis are safe at home!
These ‘Ab’Solution Herringbone Trousers are my first pair of Wit & Wisdom pants, and I have to say that I really love how they fit! I did get them hemmed because they don’t come in petite sizes, I am wearing a regular size 0. My Sweater Vest is by Madewell at Nordstrom. And, because I love the Day Glove ballet flats from Everlane, I had to get the new Bordeaux Suede version.

Honey Whipped Feta with Garlic Herb Roasted Olives
On this dark and stormy Friday, we are making Honey Whipped Feta with Garlic Herb Roasted Olives. It’s such an easy appetizer that looks as beautiful as it is delicious! We enjoyed this whipped feta and olives with toasted Naan bread, which was fantastic, but you can also serve it with crackers or baguette slices.
Honey Whipped Feta with Garlic Herb Roasted Olives
Ingredients:
- Roasted Olives
- 2 cups mixed olives pitted
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic smashed
- 1 shallot quartered
- 1 lemon quartered
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 sprigs fresh oregano
- chili flakes
- Honey Whipped Feta
- 1 cup 8 ounces crumbled feta cheese
- 3 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
- 2-3 tablespoons honey
- black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 450° F. In a baking dish, combine the olives, olive oil, garlic, shallot, lemon, thyme, oregano, and a big pinch of chili flakes. Bake 20-25 minutes, until the garlic turns golden and the oil is sizzling.
- Meanwhile, whip the feta. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until smooth and creamy. The feta can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Spoon the feta into a serving bowl and then top with the warm olives. Serve with bread or crackers.
