Is it Friday? How did that happen? Without a doubt this week has flown by in a nano-second! Today we are sharing Cropped Pants and a Summer Dress for the Weekend. Rain and more rain has been in the forecast and I have to say I didn’t mind one bit. I love a rainy day. Whenever the sun is shining I feel as if I have to go, go, go. But when a thunderstorm rumbles its way through town it slows down my pace. I don’t mind one bit if I curl up with a good book to while away the hours.
But if it’s Friday then the show must go on. Oscar is ready for his weekly gig and Kelly whipped up the BEST meal – Or at the very least whip up a good meal! What is better than a salad with homemade dressing? Unless you add a perfectly grilled steak into the mix. And here’s a funny story! While Kelly and I were busy eating our lovely steak wedge salads on the porch Oscar decided to help himself to the leftover steak on the kitchen counter! I kid you not! That scallywag ate an entire New York Strip!! And by the looks of it, he didn’t feel an ounce of guilt…
TL;DR
Today’s outfits are cropped dotted pants and a linen shirtdress

Cropped Pants and a Summer Dress for the Weekend
Beth’s Outfit: Dot Cropped pants
I’m having a moment with polka dots this summer. How cute are these polka dot pants from Ann Taylor? There’s a matching halter top that I wore last week. Separates are such a good investment as you can mix and match to your hearts content. But matching sets are everywhere this year and the polka dot set is absolutely adorable when work together! But I digress… Today, I opted for a sleeveless black turtleneck that’s a perfect match with the polka dot pants. Add black sandals and I have the perfect summer outfit.

What I love about separates is they can mix and match with other items in your wardrobe creating endless possibilities. But if you want that WOW factor buy the matching set!

Kelly’s Outfit: Linen Shirtdress
(J.Crew)
I have a Baird McNutt Irish Linen shirt from J.Crew that I have had for years, so I was happy to make the purchase of this Baird McNutt Irish Linen Shirtdress. Such a great summer dress! Happier still since it comes in petites! It comes in four other colors so you’re sure to find one perfect for you!

My Woven Square Buckle Belt and Slingback Espadrilles are from J.Crew as well. I have gone a bit of a belt-bender this summer; purchasing a few woven and braided belts for summer. I love this striped one, it’s unique and versatile.
Feta Brine Vodka Martini
I love a dirty gin martini and when Kelly said she came across a new trend in dirty martinis – well, we had to try it! Instead of olive juice, this martini uses feta brine for savory flavor, and a milder vodka, instead of gin. Don’t forget three feta-stuffed olives!
Steak Wedge Salad

To cook the steak, I used the cold pan method, which is so easy, and clean up is a cinch. It’s hard to overcook a steak when you use this method, everyone can theirs exactly how they like it!
Oscar, Kelly, Ollie and I wish you all a lovely weekend!

Oscar, the steak-stealer! How funny 🙂 I think everyone looks forward to your Friday posts! They’re great. I’ll have to try that wedge — looks so delicious. Thanks for the happy kickoff to our weekends and wrap up to our work-weeks!
I hope you had a great weekend!
That sneaky Oscar!!! So funny…..he looks so cute in the photos. Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend ❤️
Thanks, Janet! I hope you enjoyed your weekend too!
We used to raise Dalmatians and I love a great polka dot! Those pants look great–modern and chic.
Hope Oscar enjoyed his New York strip!
I think Oscar thoroughly enjoyed the steak!
Your lawn grass always looks so lush, soft and weed -free. Just the type you’d love to walk barefoot in. How do you keep it up?

What was Oscar to do when presented with the opportunity to eat steak? NOT eat it?? Hope he slipped a bite to Oliver. Darling outfits on both of you. The martini makes me think of my dad going out for occasional business lunches and having 2 (or 3!) martinis. Yikes! That was the 60s – the age of cocktails!
I remember those martini lunches that were so common during the 60s! I’d have to go home and take a nap!
