Happy first Friday in June! I know I say this ALL the time, but this year is flying by at record speed. June has arrived, and it brought along the first blush of summer. We are ready for Fresh Fashion and Fun for the Weekend! Honestly, June is one of my favorite months, maybe because it’s such a happy month with graduations, weddings, and al fresco dining on deck. The temps are warm but not hot, and the humidity is typically lower too. And I spend a great deal of time on my three-season porch, one of my favorite spots in my house.
Kelly is whipping up a delicious, and I do mean DELICIOUS frittata that’s as nutritious as it is yummy. And we decided a Bourbon Strawberry Tea would be the perfect accompaniment. It was! Oscar is up to his usual antics but stopped long enough to have his photo snapped. Many of you have asked if he has lost weight. Yes, he has. The Vet wanted him down a few pounds due to his arthritis, so we have him on prescription dog food for mobility, and I sprinkle a nutritious topper on top that’s filled with lots of goodies to keep him healthy and strong. Yep, Oscar and I are about the same age now and need lots of maintenance. But we’re still going strong. You should see him chase the squirrels!

Fresh Fashion and Fun for the Weekend
Beth’s Outfit: bold stripes in a fun summer color combo
How cute is this kelly green and navy striped tunic from Tuckernuck? I feel as if this outfit would be perfect for 1960 Palm Springs. Just add a pair of mod sunglasses for the perfect yet chic modern look.

I originally purchased the pants that come in navy, green, and pink from the Atlantic Pacific Collection that matches the tunic. Still, I didn’t like the material or the fit, so I reached for my favorite cropped flare pant from J. McLaughlin, which I like so much better. It matches to a T.
How FUN are these crystal earrings? I bought two pairs of earrings from this Collection the Daisy Drop Earrings and the Starburst Pearl Earrings. Both are adorable, and the quality is there too. All in all, I love this cute and comfy outfit that will be on summer repeat.

Kelly’s Outfit: classic Navy & white gingham
Gingham is so perfect for summer. It’s a really fun and easy pattern to wear too. Beth and I are wearing the same style of pants, actually. The Ivy Pants from J. McLaughlin. This pull-on pant is incredibly comfortable and lightweight, making it an easy go-to pant for summer. Plus, it comes in several colors.

I had these flare pants hemmed to have the cropped look, and it was well worth the tailoring because these pants are a dream! And, of course, when in doubt about a shoe that goes with a pattern, go for metallics!
Bourbon Strawberry Tea
Fresh strawberries add a great flavor and give this bourbon strawberry tea a lovely pink hue. It’s refreshing and great on a hot summer day.
The tartness of the strawberries does need a little help from a splash of simple syrup.
Market Fresh Frittata
This frittata is great for brunch or a luncheon. It’s full of flavor and veggies. Serve it with easy vinaigrette-dressed salad of greens and herbs for an extra fresh finish.

I love Fridays with Oscar.. Love Oscar.
Hi Beth
There are no words to describe it,
Both of your outfits are so pretty and fresh
The recipes look very tasty, the table setting very refreshing.
Thank you for bringing to our homes so much joy
Hi,
I love all of your posts! I think the frittata recipe sounds wonderful and plan to try it when I have the family over so that my husband and I won’t eat the whole thing!
I realize I am not receiving Kelly’s recipe posts anymore. Did I miss something or should I try to sign up again?
Thanks for the wonderful info you provide in your posts!
Hi Maureen, Kelly here…I took on a much larger role at Style at a Certain Age, so decided to stop posting daily recipes to Djalali Cooks. The website lives on for reference and exploration, but no new recipes are posted there. Instead, you can catch me here on Fridays with Oscar, and on Sunday afternoons, I post a fresh recipe to Style at a Certain Age, under Kelly’s Kitchen. Thanks so much for asking! xo Kelly
I love both the outfits, but the stripe top keeps calling my name.
I love Kelly’s hair. Looks great on her.
I do miss her recipes during the week, but I catch Friday’s here for a recipe.
You ladies look amazing !! I love both outfits and the way you style them and thank you Kelly for the lovely recipes. We definitely try them both this summer.
Happy weekend and than’ you for the sunshine 🙂
