who is ready for friday? from the looks of it, oscar is jumping for joy that the weekend has arrived. take a look at this lush green grass thanks to those rainstorms that have been rolling through on a daily basis. 
as you can imagine there are lots of pinecones and branches that litter our yard due to the blustery winds this past week. since puppyhood oscar has had a thing for sticks. believe me; he always has one eye on the lookout to snatch one up. it looks as if he was in stick heaven today as there were a variety of fallen branches scattered everywhere. 
don’t worry. he looks quite ferocious here, but both eyes are on that darn stick. on our daily walks in san francisco oscar would find one perfect stick after another until he finally settled on the best one. then he proudly carried it with him for the duration of our walk. once we arrived back to our apartment, he’d try and sneak said stick inside. his MO? he refused to make eye contact. in his mind, if he didn’t see us we didn’t see the stick. but darn if we didn’t ask him to drop that stick each time. oh, humans!
i do have to point out my snazzy new boyfriend jeans from Talbots. the loose fit is dreamy to wear and helps ward off those mosquitos that multiplied exponentially in recent days. the tee is also from Talbots in a linen blend with a hint of metallic that gives it a little shimmer. a pair of cap-toed espadrilles finishes this outfit off to keep me sure-footed on today’s walk with oscar. i’m thrilled that there isn’t one dark cloud in the sky. fingers crossed.
but first a little love from my favorite canine. if you plop your fanny in the grass there’s certain to be a few slobbery kisses. and i’m pretty sure oscar thinks he’s a lap dog.

okay, ladies. it’s friday! time to kick off the weekend. and i’m keeping my fingers crossed for blue skies and sunshine. i’d say our grass is plenty green. now it’s time to nurture our poor waterlogged plants back to life…

Hahahaaaa. I love the story about Oscar and his beloved sticks. Sweet. And I love that he thinks if he isn’t looking at you, you’re also not noticing the stick. Classic.
We have commented on how lush everything is this year, too–I’m glad we’re not in a drought. Some years it’s been scary how dry it has been, so I’ll take the rain, but it’s also at the point where enough is enough. (I will say even all the fruits this year are fabulous here–blueberries are plump and sweet, as are cantelopes and strawberries and the cherries are out of this world this year.) I like your stone work in front of the house, (if that’s yours.) looks great!
