Happy Friday, ladies! It’s Flag Day! Today we Have Italian Summer Recipes as we are cruising through June at breakneck speed. Can you believe the Fourth of July is a mere three weeks away? We’ve been washed out four years running here in Athens, but we’re bravely making reservations for the Fourth of July celebrations at the Georgia Club once again. Fingers crossed, the rain will pass us by this year, and we can watch the fireworks up close from the comfort of our Stars and Stripes lawn chairs. I bought them for the family a couple of years ago and while we faithfully set them up we had to run back in the pouring rain to retrieve them.
We’re whipping up a yummy cocktail perfect for summer, and you’ll want to add this version of potato salad to your recipe file. As a matter of fact, you should take it to your Fourth of July BBQ. It is soooo good and easy to make. It’s certain to be a hit with friends and family.

Linen Top
A week ago, I wore this beautiful pink linen top from Banana Republic with a pair of white linen pants. I loved it so much that I purchased another one, this time in black. Give me all the linen all summer long, wrinkles and all. The weather has been mild with no humidity, although all that will change and soon, so I decided to slip into a pair of straight-leg denim from J. Crew. While I wear jeans occasionally in the summer, I mostly slip into shorts, linen pants, or a dress. Love, love, love dresses this time of year! Relaxed chinos are also a favorite option.

One of my favorite sandals, purchased in early spring, is the Vince Lucila Toe Ring Sandal. The pair I’m wearing is slightly different from the one linked, but they have the same name – Lucila. Mine doesn’t have the strap in the back, and it has a double strap instead of a single. Go figure!

Masie Shorts
My outfit today is perfect for the warm weather in Athens this week. My lime green gingham shorts are the Masie Shorts from J.McLaughlin. The green gingham is from last year, but this year they have a chambray and white gingham. I absolutely love these pull-on shorts, they are cool and comfortable!

Italian Summer Recipes: Aperol Sunset
Our Italian Summer Recipes aren’t complete without an Aperol cocktail! While an Aperol Spritz is the quintessential summer cocktail, today we have an Aperol Sunset which includes vodka and grapefruit juice which amps up the bitter fruit flavor.
Italian Summer Recipes: Sicilian Potato Salad
This Sicilian Potato Salad is bursting with flavor! This is one of those salads that gets better the longer it sits; the potatoes soak up more of the dressing and the flavors really meld together. So make it at least 3 hours before you plan to serve it!
